Sounds about right. I guess it will come down to coaching.

Its just the players, not how they perform with the offense around them

6. Riley,Colman,Sheppard V. Upshaw,McClain,Anders
LB adv.- Bama, but its close. LSU LBs have been the strength of the defense this year.

7.Peterson,Hawkins V. Arenas,Jackson
CB adv.- LSU

8. Jones,Taylor V.Barron,Woodall
S adv. - LSU

9. Miles V. Saban
Adv.- Bama

Unfortunatley, Bama has the Dline and Oline advantage. This might be a huge factor.

I say Miles v. Saban is a wash: Les' clock management v. Saban's conservatism. It'll be interesting to see if either coach does any out-of-the-box planning for this game; I'd give Les the nod here.

I think that every category is close except for RB, WR, OL, and DL. Bama is noticeably better in three of these positions, while LSU is clearly better at receiver.

I think that LSU's secondary is better than Bama's, while Bama's linebackers are better, but the units for both teams are quite good. I also think Jefferson is a better quarterback than McElroy, but neither of them really impress me.

Both teams also have good kickers and dangerous returners (Arenas and Trindon). It should be a close game.

The QB will rarely determine the game if one team has the clear advantage in the trenches on BOTH sides of the ball.
