I bet they not only didn't get page 9 headlines, but they got no coverage at all. Congrats on winning Mardi Gras, fellas! If you don't know what Ultimate is then hit up the youtube and put Ultimate highlites in the search box.

Not even a sport. It is a leisure activity at best.

Did you know that LSU Ultimate legend Brian Herriford won the Callahan Trophy, Ultimate's equivelant to the Heisman, in the '90's and was featured in Rolling Stone? LSU Ultimate alums have also gone on and won national and world titles.

I was looking at FAQ's about this sport, and I didnt see my question...

WTH is this game? Frisbee football, golf, basketball?

It takes a lot of skill to do it, but I never saw frisbee as anything but a pastime.

It has elements of soccer, football, and basketball. Do as the OP suggested and go to YouTube and do a search for ultimate frisbee. If you find one of the videos with over a million hits it will probably be top level play. There is a national championship for club teams as well as a collegiate national championship. I think you will be surprised at the caliber of athletes you will see. Played at a high level it is definitely a sport. The guy in this thread who stated it was not a sport has obviously never played ultimate on any level

We use to play some Frisbee back in the early 80's. Had fun drinking some beers and tossing it around in the park on pretty spring days. I also played Frisbee golf at Lafeniere Park in Metairie. Pretty cool sport, but frustrating just like real golf, not sure if the course is still there though. You should check it out since your into throwing the Frisbee. Does LSU have a Frisbee golf team also?

Also thought of Howard Stern playing frisbee in his movie Private Parts

TD needs more disc golf discussion. Maybe even a disc golf board.
