And a few people here are still under the impression Alleva is some kind of a miracle worker for running a profitable department.

Nowadays football is just dragging everyone else along, maybe gymnastics is moving into the black now too with the sold out PMAC.

It would be interesting to know what that number would've been without Mizzou and TAMU.

Would love to see how LSU allocates/uses those funds.

Well, simple math would put it at above 47 million, on average. But the total number would have decreased without those two.

Obviously. I think he meant what would the total amount be if TAMU and Mizzou were not in the SEC.

The insurance alone will keep them in the red......very expensive to have gymnastics.

If baseball doesn't make money then no one is.

Take it from someone who has taken Sports Business classes at LSU: LSU Football and LSU Baseball carry the athletic department. Everything else is an anchor.

But he is responsible for overseeing how it is spent regarding infrastructure and improvements around the campus. He is responsible for managing everything that is under his watch good, bad or indifferent

They probably also told you in those classes that we do not have football and baseball without those other sports too, huh? Both legally and from an enrollment standpoint.

Basketball turns a profit by default. Baseball doesn't carry LSU Athletics. Any sport that turns a profit or just breaks even that isn't football or men's basketball is a major boon to the department.

Do we still have to shop for a basketball coach in the bargain basement?

Some fans think pulling for Bama is what makes us money from the SEC.
