That is exactly right and what it is is about making money and giving yourself a chance to get into the playoffs using the path of least resistance as possible.

If you want good OOC games, you have to give some up at home. Its inevitable

Actually if TCU is even thinking about being good next year they should be ecstatic about this

Please explain why? Winners want to face the best competition and TCU was set to do that on back to back years. Now they lose one game of the match up. Ft Worth loses revenue, the school itself loses exposure despite the football team getting equal or more exposure.

I understand the financial incentives. Nonetheless, as a season ticket holder who has greatly enjoyed home OOC tilts with Oregon State, VT, Arizona, WVU, Washington, etc., I still hate to see these exotic home match-ups slowly go extinct.

the more/better OOC games, the better...no matter where they are.

i'd bet the LSU admins negotiated to get much more money than they'd usually get for a game like this.

LSU isn't going to travel to your small stadium.

I agree, which is why I don't care about losing home games as long as we're playing good teams, especially for games like this. Labor day weekend is the perfect weekend for a college football road trip

LSU to play TCU in Cowboys Classic 2013

YESS YESS. I loved playing in the Cowboys Classic now we get to go back to capital bar in Fort Worth. Lot of hot TCU slams running around

I enjoy Ft. Worth, but could y'all have any more of Little Brother Syndrome to Dallas? Both cities are great, and Arlington sucks.

Speaking OOC, doesn't Oklahoma owe us a home & home?

To those that say you will outnumber TCU fans: no shite Sherlock. Look at the relative enrollments of each school and the number of years of sports dominance.

As a huge fan of both schools who can boast having a transcript with courses from each of the fine institutions, I am very disappointed. Both schools just went through extensive stadium remodeling (one more than the other) and Amon G Carter Stadium is truly one of a kind now and capable of rivaling some SEC schools in seating capacity. Ft Worth is a great city and is more in line with and open to family in fun in the south than Dallas can ever hope to be. Fans of both schools should get to experience all each great city and local culture has to offer. There is no reason to play these games at Jerry world. It takes away from the college atmosphere and experience. If I wanted to overpay to watch football on a giant screen in a sterile environment I would either buy cowboys tickets or install a 90" LCD in a slot at the city parking garage and sit really close.

This freaking sucks even though it was completely expected.

This does suck. However, I naturally assumed that (assuming the home and home was kept in place) that the Tcu home game would have been moved to the Cowboys Stadium.

Simple exposure for the football team.....if you are going to be good then you want people on ESPN talking about you as much as possible. There is nothing like a season opening Classic matchup to do this especially for a smaller school.

True....I would assume they got some type of monetary compensation on this matter from the Classic.....unless they just called it even for not having to travel to BR.

the school itself loses exposure

Not really. You will still get your commercials on the tube and think of the extra exposure you get from the other outlets like I mentioned above.

Ft Worth loses revenue

I can bet you that the TCU athletic administration has very little concern for Ft. Worth......Ft. Worth is a pretty bad arse little place and can fend for itself. In fact I would recommend every Tiger fan make it down to the Stockyards at some point before or after the game. I know I will.

Right. I tend to agree. However, I'm not sure this really accomplishes that aim. Under the old arrangement, assuming there was a home and home, we got two decent OOC games against TCU. Now, we get one and a future game against an opponent to be named. If that opponent is a cupcake, we've actually lost a good OOC game in the aggregate.

Playing TCU in Dallas next season instead of Tiger Stadium is a minor development overall. I'm neither really excited about it nor really disappointed. It should be a boring blowout in either case.
