We used to use rabbit ears on our TV while tailgating and pick up CBS where we could watch day SEC games without cable. Since they made the digital switch or whatever it was, can you still do this? I don't have a satellite dish and don't want to haul a big screen out there if it's not possible. Thanks.

all u need is a digital converter box, and use it as a passthrough to your rabbit ears, I can even pick up HD signals with those.

you can use an old tv with a converter box purchased at walmart.

this will allow you to catch about 15 channels including cbs, nbc, abc, etc.........

If you don't bring a digital tv out there and go with the rabbit ears, you'll need a digital converter box.

It is tough but you can get it. If using an older tv though, a digital converter box is a necessity.

BTW-Where's the pic of the landmark hotel in your sig? You had it there for the longest time. That was great!

I use a 720p TV with an HD antenna which I bought online for like $15. CBS is as clear as when I watch it on U-verse.

We can never pick up CBS with even the most expensive HD antenna's on gameday.

You need to move the antenna around. I've had issues with CBS and ABC, but ultimately found the signal after moving it around.

Fox and 3 other channels

I have never had a problem getting CBS. I don't know what everyone else is using but I use a standard 720p Insigma TV/DVD combo with an HD antenna I bought on 1saleaday.com. Watched UGA vs Buffalo and ND vs Navy this past weekend. Was Tailgating on Nicholson

Antennaweb.org

Here is a map showing signal strength from local broadcasters. (I used the northgate zip code, but you can adjust how you like...though shouldn't be any different)

may be more than what you want to pay..but we use dish networks "tailgater" dish. Don't remember what we paid but it wasn't much compared to others. We get all 255 channels we normally pay for
