This has been said before...but how does LSU see this as a good thing...getting face value tickets for baseball is gonna be pretty much non existent this year....I'm dreading football season....the old marketplace was awesome and helped tiger fans get tickets and help those sell tickets pretty fast..Now us who don't have season tickets will get gouged.. TL:DR just needed to vent

I started a thread on this a while back. I'm disappointed in LSU selling out but that's what they do.

Can people not sell for below face value now that it's stub hub?

Its too bad. I was sitting in the bleachers down the 1st baseline friday night and I overheard the guy in front of me say in the 10th inning, "I paid $70 for this ticket! No way in hell I'm leaving early." Stubhub ripped him a new one

Exactly. Do people not understand supply and demand? Tickets will not be extreme all year.

The new LSU/StubHub ticket site is fantastic!

I've bought upgraded seats for 3 games, including today's game, and paid for the upgrades by selling my tickets for those same 3 games breaking even on the exchanges. The ticket transfers are all electronic and immediately available to print as soon as the sale occurs.

I wish LSU had done this years ago.

I love it.

If I want to go to a crap game, I get a discount. For a big time game, I have to shell out. Win-win for all.

I have sold section two 200-level LSU basketball tickets for $70/each, $60/each and $50/each this year and bought first row bullpen tickets for $6/each today.

How did LSU sell out? They gave fans the legal ability to sell their property at market prices instead of setting the price and charging a fee so that LSU gets paid twice for the same ticket.

What's not to like? Unless you hate supply and demand.

Two tickets in section 222... Face value of $4 per ticket (without TAF fees)... After the ticketholder upped the prices to $25 and StubHub tacked on about fees for processing and shipping I dished out $80 for Saturday's baseball game.

Sad day for us non-season ticket holding sports fans.

You know what? If you and everyone else didn't buy those tickets for $80 the prices would drop.

I think LSU is probably more concerned with the season ticket holder.

If this lets them recoup some of the cost of season tickets, they're more likely to renew. before this change, why not let the season tickets go and just buy them on the street since they were so cheap for most games compared to Tradition fee and season ticket costs. Thinking mainly of football here, but it sounds like it may apply to other sports too with the comment above.

They will if people stop paying $80 for two tickets.

Tell me what they were after stub hub fees.

This is what stub hub/ticketmaster does. They have $10 in fees in which most of that will go to LSU in return Stub Hub takes the heat for the high fees.

That sucks. I bet most of those Stub Hub fees you paid went straight into LSU's pocket too.

So does LSU allow ticket scalping now?

If I sell 3rd party 3x face value then LSU didn't exactly know about it before.

With stubhub now in agreement with LSU. Is LSU now ok with someone selling 3x face value? Isnt there something in our agreements that we could lose our season tickets for doing such?

I'm trying to grasp how LSU is allowing a baseball ticket to go for $75 for one game. Will LSU utilize this new information they have to determine which season ticket holders are in constant violation of their policy?

From LSU's Ticket Market Place website on LSUSports.net: (It sounds like LSU expects prices to be able to exceed the face value.)

This exciting partnership with StubHub will give fans more freedom in pricing, number of ticket postings, and allow you to reach a broader audience than ever before!

Because StubHub is an out-of-state entity, Louisiana's ticket scalping laws do not apply to tickets sold on their website.

I'll call John Bel to fix that in the special session.

Im referring to the practice we all know goes on. A scalper buys an allotment of seats and sells them every game.

The bolded section doesn't talk about Louisiana Law:

Resale of Tickets

Ticket Resale Policy
LSU Athletics tickets are revocable licenses and LSU may revoke tickets for any reason, at the University’s discretion. These ticket licenses do not confer any property right to the ticket holder. In accordance with Louisiana state law La. R.S. 4:1, LSU forbids the resale of tickets above the price printed on the ticket. Ticket holders are advised that LSU may cancel or revoke tickets for certain conduct including, but not limited to, the following:
•The resale of, or attempted resale of, tickets above the price printed on the ticket in violation of Louisiana law;
•Any form of fraudulent activity;
•The purchase of tickets for the purpose and intent of reselling the tickets on the secondary market above the price printed on the ticket; and
•Use of tickets for sweepstakes, contests, and/or promotions without the prior written consent from LSU.
