If you want to question Mawae's recruiting, ok, that's fair. But his ability to coach the position? You need to get to know more about him; he's excellent at transferring knowledge and improving players.

Why?
I'm not saying we shouldn't fire Grimes, but why Mawae?
Has he ever coached?
Just because he was a great player doesn't mean he can coach.
The O line doesn't need to hire an inexperienced experiment, they need someone who can fix things quickly.

Mawae has no coaching experience. Just ex tiger post less

I don't give a shite. Coaching Experience?, Well at the time he was too busy finishing up his HOF career and giving speeches as the Players Assoc President.
He'd be a lights out recruiter. We can't even keep the best talent in state.

I think change should be made at OLINE COACH. 2nd half wasn't as bad but 1st qt early 2nd qt our Oline was getting blowed up by3-4 man rushes

There was one play in particular last night. Short yardage run straight up the middle and I look and there's Clapp standing up in the middle of the backfield when there's a giant pile where he was lined up. How in the Hell does your C end up there on that play?

None of that means he can coach

Pure speculation
What is it with this fan base that we want the entire coaching staff to be made of Louisiana natives and ex tigers.

I don't really agree with this, but just curious why you would wait until Monday?

Did LSU actually do that?

Terrible knee jerk reaction

There just aren't enough players and talent on the line to coach any better.

Why do you think Teuhema leaving was on the coaches? Didn't go to class or make the grades. Could have had a good year and done well in the NFL drafy, but he alike decided to throw it all away.
Posted on 9/24/17 at 4:12 pm to udtiger
Mawae? Is he a great oline coach? Why are we restricting ourselves to LSU guys? We would have zero national championships had we always done that.

How do you know? You and others are letting personal affection for him get in the way, I have no doubt he knows a lot, that doesn't automatically mean he'd be a great coach, it of course doesn't mean he can't be a good coach, just that he needs to get experience at a lower level first

I think he just likes to shoehorn every possible negative around the program into proof that his hatred of the Orgeron hire is justified.
Other than Teuhma, I don't think any of the transfers would be seeing meaningful playing time.

It also doesn’t mean he’s not a good coach. We’ll never know either way. Having that guy in the film room and teaching kids how to read defenses would be nothing but good for LSU.

Lol. Kevin's roots go back to Hawaii. His dad was in the army and by CHANCE he was assigned duty to Fort Polk. Fortunately for us he finished out his high school career in Leesville. And the rest is history.

It is on Coach O and Grimes because these are the pains of change. This is why people didn't want to fire Miles. Change is difficult. Between attrition and different blocking schemes, it is going to take time. Only Canada and O know if Grimes is doing his job. We'll know in February.

Aren’t we still paying another OL coach? Maybe we can get some return on those dollars.
And yes, this is total sarcasm.

I was willing to give Grimes a chance with a new HC and new system, but it isn't working. Time to go bye bye.
