Fournette and Williams lost a mere combined 13 yards in a combined 251 carries all season.

Damn. That's sick.

LSU's Leonard Fournette and Darell Williams are nowhere to be found.

Fournette and Guice will be the best backfield in the SEC by the end of the year

that combo has serious "thunder and lightning" potential

guice, if he pans out to his potential, has serious, and i mean SERIOUS, gamebreaking potential. that's massive in CFB

and i'm still on the "i don't think LF plays as fast as he's reported to be" train. i hope he proves me wrong this year, though

No he's not. No disrespect to DW, but Ware was a boss.

I'll put my money on DW having a more productive football career.

I think some of it is just experience. I expect him to break a few more longer runs this year.

I think our OL will be improves over last year and so will Fournette and Williams. add our quality depth and anyone not at least putting LSU near the top is a fool.

yet a team that finished with the same record and is starting a new qb is one of the favorites to win the sec

if there is one position on our team that gives me absolutely zero concern heading into the season it's running back

ETA: well...safety too of course

Yeah, I can see that. I think he just played tight the first half of the season. As the game slowed down for him down the stretch, he ran looser and with better vision. Add the fact that he supposedly will play 5-7 lbs lighter this year, and I think he will look faster on the field.

With the o-line we have this year, if the passing game can loosen up the defense a little and get them to stop stacking the box, it won't matter who the RB is back there. All of them will blow up!!!!!

Not super-sure why we're fixated on the opinion of a 24-year-old writer for Saturday Down South.

I guess he's in the conversation because of his ypc in 2013 (pretty sure its an LSU single season best).

Faulk, Alexander, and Hilliard would be the guys we're comparing him too (forget Cannon).

Listen GG, your act is way past old. Who gives a shite about this? I think most logical LSU fans know exactly what LSU has a RB, and without question has the best tandem in the nation with the addition of Guice. So who cares about the opinion of some dumb frick that probably hasn't taken the time to even know who LSU's backup is.

I love flying under the radar

People say that every year, but when has it ever worked for us? Our 2007 and 2011 teams started the season in the top 4. 2005, 2006 and I belive 2010 started in the top 10. 2001 and 2003 (and maybe 2010) were the only recent LSU teams that started outside the top 10 and finished inside it, and I'm pretty sure they all at least started in the top 15. A couple have started in the top 10 and finished out of it. None of the 11+ win teams in this millenium were picked 5th or lower in the west in the preseason by ANYBODY. Maybe this team will be the one that bucks the trend, but over the years there hasn't seemed to be anything advantageous for LSU to have low expectations from the media or others going into the season.

Williams is a beast, but I think Guice is just a special talent.

By years end its LF/Guice/Williams/Brossette/Ducre IMO

With Ducre getting more carries than Brossette due to short yardage packages.
