He's entitled to his opinion. I hope the mouthbreathers don't get all geeked up about this.

It's possible. He's the face of LSU football, whether right or wrong.

it would be smarter for him to not get involved in that.

Keep your head down and do what you've been doing as a great representative to yourself and the school.

I don't mind it. I hope the bigots don't hop on this, or he finds himself in the wrong place/wrong time.

He is a great person, and I am sure he will make good choices.

Frustrating. I still like him as I have personally seen him do good things, but this does disappoint me

Or, as one of the most visible members of the African American community, he can use his popularity to rally positive support in this city. I don't know what his message was beyond wearing the tshirt.

Leonard has the ability to be a leader beyond the football field. He should definitely be a positive influence to young people everywhere. Don't try to silence him just because you may or may not agree with his views.

At that age what you see in your community and in the media easily influences you. Young folk don't form their own opinions and don't understand the impacts of what they put out there. This doesn't influence my opinion of Leonard at all.

The difference is that he's very simply wearing a shirt with a photo of the deceased on it. It's a sign of remembrance, no matter what your opinion on Sterling may be.

He didn't immediately hop on Twitter and start ranting about racism, how evil cops are, how the man is holding anyone down, BLM, or any of the other lightning rod topics that so many other athletes and celebs rush to let everyone know their stance on anything and everything.

Even in this extremely divisive issue, LF keeps it classy.

At least he didn't go full Big Baby. Big baby said Alton was a "great guy" and "wouldn't hurt a fly" LINK

He's 21, not 16. He is going into his Junior year of college. That's exactly the age when you start forming your own opinions and not letting the outside voices dictate your worldview.

For those who don't agree with his message, that's fine as long as you don't hate him for it. He's a black kid from the inner city though, what stance did you think he would take on this issue?
