LSU has made available 350 additional free parking spaces for remaining LSU home football games, beginning with Saturday's game against Florida, the school announced Wednesday. LSU plays Florida at 2:30 p.m.

Work on a the new lot located next to the LSU golf course on Gourrier Lane was recently completed. The lot is across Gourrier from Alex Box Stadium. Parking in this new grass lot is on a first-come, first-serve basis and can be accessed by turning onto Gourrier Avenue from either Nicholson Drive or River Road.

Meh, wasn't that great anyway.

Can someone explain why there is no parking garage on some land around S Stadium/Nicholson? Would help a lot for the cluster that is football game parking.

It'll never be ready for 2017. Might get started in 2017 and be ready for 2021.

BTW, it's a GD shame that the ever disappointing LSUAD tore down that iconic structure (Should have been renovated to house women's softball) and have turned the site into a public eyesore of the highest magnitude. It's been a frickin limestone arregate parking lot for how many years now? They didn't even bother to remove the stadium lights, fences or that old dilapidated message board sign on Nicholson.

Too many individuals in that "Department" just don't care about the image the Univesrity is projecting by leaving that site in as bad a state as it is currently.

It's going to be nice. They're moving the LSU Foundation, rebuilding graduate housing, making a champions plaza, a possible trolly from downtown thru campus, parking garage, stores, and etc

What department are you referring to and why wouldn't they care how our university is reflected?

I agree that part of campus has looked like shite since they tore down the old Alex Box but after announcing their plans for the area and hosting several townhall meetings asking for people's input/ideas the past year or so it's excusable IMO

The project has already been approved by the BoS btw

Why did you italicize your entire post? Is it a quote or something?

K. The garage could also be used for commuter parking during the semesters.

And the economic impact of those 6-7 days per year is immense.
