I remember the first game against Bama this year. I'd led my team to a 9-0 record with great passing efficiency, and I felt that maybe this year I could build off of my 2010 performance against Bama and do some damage.
Unfortunately, their defensive backs had half a brain this time, so I had my struggles and ended up throwing two interceptions. After the second one, when I reached the sidelines Coach Miles pulled me aside and said "Consider your season finished. You'll be lucky to play 10 snaps the rest of this year!" And so with Jordan Jefferson at the helm, the team managed to pull off the victory. "Maybe it was needed and Miles said those things just in the heat of the moment" I thought.
As the season progressed, I saw my snaps drop off sharply until they hit zero. Ok, maybe he was just waiting for me to shine in the SEC championship. My hopes shot up when Jordan opened the game poorly, so I went to go talk to Coach Miles. I asked him if I could get in and play, and he said, "Fat chance. Alabama has a better chance of making a field goal in their bowl game." Anyways, while we won that game I started to get the feeling that Coach Miles hated my guts, or Jordan had blackmail on him.
So fast forward to the point that we found out that we were playing Bama again, and everyone was thrilled to death about it. "We are going to grind them into dust!" and "Bama is going to find out why they had no business in this game" and "Les Miles is a far better coach than Nick Saban" was heard in the locker room and around campus.
When we arrive at New Orleans, I'll never forget what Jordan said, "I'm going to go get plastered and to hell with practicing for the game!" Surely enough, he and a lot of the others took this mentality to heart.
During the game, as I kept watching from the sidelines, I couldn't help but wonder why Jordan looked so horrible against Bama. Every other time he's played them he looked far better, but tonight it seemed wasn't his night. After he threw the interception, I went to talk to Coach Miles and he said "You'll get to play when Jordan throws two interceptions returned for touchdowns in this game." So I then went to talk to Jordan about it, and here's what he had to say-
"I don't get it man. They never this good at defending me. It's like they finally realized I run the ball. And that interception was all on Spencer. He should have known I was going to throw it. I was just running to fool them linebackers."
And as I sat there watching us throw away our perfect season, I couldn't help but begin to wonder what could have been if I had chosen a school where I would have a coach that actually would be willing to play me. I guess I will never know.
But if I had played, I would have at least tried to earn us the win that would be good for these shirts. But we'll never know what could have been if I had played.

I don't see why we can't wear that shirt. "They" didn't think they lost the first game so why can't we do the same thing? lol

I've BEEN saying this!!! We didn't lose a NCG...what about it was "national"? Our body of work was enough...
Yea. I'd buy the damn shirt if it were still available and I'd wear it proudly!

They had a guy on craiglist claiming he had 5000 LSU National Championship shirts for sale, $1.00 each.... said he was supposed to be disposing of them?

You guys are stacked. You're shirts have only been delayed a year.
Also, I hope you play USC in the title game and whip them 51-0!

These things get produced ahead of time and the retailers can return the losing team's items.
We had LSU NC Flags which we returned.
