Special Teams coverage has been regressing past two seasons. No signs of adjustments being made.

But we didn't play Florida last night. And LSU can do exactly what they did last night against SC (and catch the ball) and win by atleast 10.

What adjustments needed to be made against E Michigan? They did exactly what they wanted to do...minus the dropped passes.

We beat just as good of a Florida D last year at Florida with a weaker offense.

I have always thought that would be a tough game this season, before Florida won.. but we match up well against them.

I will just be happy to beat SC this week.

We are #5th because four teams in front of us lost and they decided not to jump Alabama or Clemson ahead of us, the end.

Anyone who thinks we are not deserving of #5 is complete idiot. Nobody and I repeat NOBODY has looked better than us. Everyone in the top 10 has struggled with teams they shouldnt have

Nobody has looked better than us? Do you realize we have played nobody of note? Syracuse, EMU? Auburn is pretty much a cupcake with no offense or defense, and Miss St is exactly as they were described in the offseason. They are Prescott and a couple of WRs.

Don't kid yourself. The only thing we have going for us is Fournette, run blocking, and the fact that we have played shitty teams.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the typical LSU fan. No fanbase is as self-depricating or as pessimistic as LSU fans.

I 100% believe that we could go undefeated, win the CFB playoff, and there would be a segment of this fanbase that would view it as 127 other teams losing rather than LSU winning.

I'm as disappointed as anyone about some of the effort and execution we've displayed this year, but I watch a considerable amount of CFB, and we've been as good as any team in the country so far. The difference is that I choose to look at the positives and enjoy the wins, while others obsess on the negatives and let themselves be overwhelmed in misery over a loss that hasn't even happened yet. I'll never understand that mentality.

OSU- Nearly lost to Northen Illinois, and Indiana
MSU- Purdue and struggled with CMU
TCU- struggled with a minnesota team that got shut out, should have lost last week
Baylor- I'll give you them
Clemson- struggled with Louisville, beat ND closely
Florida State- LOL
Oklahoma- played nobody
Utah- can make a case why they are better
Alabama- Not sold on coker, 5 turnovers vs OM

Thats your top 10. I see 2 teams that you can make a case for that are better

I haven't watched a replay of last night's game, however, what I read from the TD Scoreboard, we had limited pass attempts, I number of drops, defense played uninspired and special teams continue to have their issues...and yes our Heisman Trophy candidate continues to mask our shortcomings...other than that, we should be the 5th ranked team in the country...Its time for the team leaders to step up and be an extension of the coaching staff; EVERYONE needs to be held accountable.

And they still have defensive problems. The effort given by their secondary is sometimes deplorable.

Might be the most impressive of the bunch and the Michigan win might end up being better than the Oregon win.

All this. People truly have the blinders on to the rest of the CFB landscape.

I'll say it again...there is NOT ONE team that has looked consistently dominant, none of them. The entire top 10 has struggled with subpar competition save for maybe Baylor and Utah. The rest either damn near lost to unranked teams (multiple times in some cases) or have lost.

Hell, I would rather look like we do today and win than look like say UCLA, Notre Dame, Georgia, Ole Miss, etc. on offense and lose. The season is still young...we will get better at our issues and learn as we go, building up to be at our best later in the year. We'll be tested as we always are in this gauntlet of a conference, but this team is not last years and we have an animal leading the way, the right way.

We have one of the best teams in the country this year and we'll be in the hunt till the end. If you can't see that and have to resort to not supporting our guys, find another team.

Alabama best team in football

By that logic Florida should be #1.

You can't pick "the best" team after 1 good game.

some LSU Fans seem like they would only be happy if we win every game, win the playoffs., National Championship, have the heisman winner, and then fire the coach

Dude, come on. The polls have went this way all year. Ohio state still hasn't been jumped because nobody else is playing good enough to jump them and they are playing poorly. Nearly the entire top 10 is nothing but a bunch of teams struggling with inferior opponents.

The fact that people can even rank teams right now is laughable. Can you really make a case this year on all these teams being ranked where they are without it sounding like a whole bunch of excuses and other people sucking? I'm an LSU fan, so that's what I pointed out. I would have pointed out TCU or Baylor, or OSU, or Clemson, or FSU, etc.

I can't give you better because nobody really looks better or worse than anybody else. Everybody is struggling against almost everybody.

College football this year is a ton of mediocre teams with significant question marks on every team.

...sorry , IMHO that is waaaay too high. 10 , maybe 9 , tops ... We simply have not looked like eyeball test domination or "earned" a victory against anybody to merit # 5 ..
