Looks like Nikki is starting to get this team to gel.......................and actually a little earlier than I thought they would. Since the disappointing loss to Hampton, the ladies have put together a three game winning streak, including winning the FIU tournament. Roles are starting to be defined and an identity is starting to be formed. Theresa Plaisance (from New Orleans) led all scorers with 28 pts (and leads the team in scoring average). Freshman phenom Danielle Ballard (and former ESPN top 25 HS player) chipped in 16 pts and senior Adrienne Webb scored 15. The ladies take on Tulane next Sunday after final exams.

Geaux Nikki!

Has been a nice turnaround and Ballard looks like real deal. Lost to Tulane last year so another good test and one we should win.

We should be able to take care of Tulane with no problem. Our defense is not nearly as good as its been in years past, but I already like the ball movement on offense I'm seeing this season.

now that is one sport that you guys can beat us in. Our women's team is an abomination. Have lost to PC, SIU-Edwarsville, Montana State

That always sucks...but Hampton is pretty good. They have averaged about 25 wins a year the last 3 years and have won their league each year. They also beat Mississippi State this year...in Starkville, no less. They are no slouch.

That game marked the improvement of our team though...I think they learned from that game and have played well since.

They are pretty fun to watch actually...81 points yesterday...it used to take Van 2 games to get that many!

once agin, MSU is TERRIBLE, 4 sec wins in last two years one (1) win over a top 115 team in past two...there is NO (none) excuse to lose to Hampton for LSU, none. zero, but the past 3 games are certianly reason to look up...

Meh...........I'm not gonna go as far as to say something that outlandish. The team can lose to anybody in the first two weeks of the season when you have almost an entirely new starting five plus a bunch of freshmen. If they played Hampton now, they'd probably beat them. Games this early aren't very meaningful anyhow. What's most important is how this team is gelling and that they're improving. January is when the important games start and I like what I'm seeing thus far.

I know Plaisance is from New Orleans but she played 2 years at Vandebilt Catholic in Houma winning state her Senior year. Don't know why they don't give that school any credit.

All the true freshman got suspended for the 1st exhibition and she must have done something else to make her's permanent.

I know a man. He told me that it was a combination of things, with grades being the main one. Final exam week will be very telling for her future, apparently.

lsualum96 guess we will have to agree to disagree about the Hampton thing, my last point would be that since a loss to Southern in 1998 I do not think we have had a loss anyone close to as bad as Hampton, but you are right that it is the rest of the season that matters more...

Well, honestly Hampton is not a "bad" program to begin with. They're definitely better than Southern. They're currently 6-3 with close losses to South Carolina and DePaul..............both very good programs. Losing to Hampton doesn't really tell us anything about this team other than, they're young and breaking in new rotations. I honestly don't think they'd lose to Hampton if they played them now but, that's the way it goes in basketball.
