So if we beat them again at Missouri I guess we have a much better coach?

Let me try your logic...

Arkansas beat Florida therefore Arkansas is better and will beat them again in Gainesville.

If you were honest, you'd admit that sounds a bit weird. Doesn't mean we can't beat Mizzou again, but we will be the underdog on the road and chances of winning aren't high.

We will be lucky to beat either Mizzou or A&M on the road. We have a much better shot at beating Bama at home than either of those two.

Alabama is #2 in the SEC. LSU has already beaten Missouri and Texas A&M. I don't understand why you see it differently.

Have you been paying attention to what Mizzou has been doing at home? They have been blowing everyone out. They have been atrocious on the road. We have a much much better shot at a Bama team we almost beat on the road the first time around.

Educate me!

I will attempt to do so. LSU can win out in the regular season and still be on the outside looking in. Read the following, which I posted in a thread a few days ago...

quote:

The SEC is the 8th best conference right now based on RPI. The last 4 years, the league ranked 4th, 6th, 4th, and 6th. We aren't getting "middle of the road" teams in this year. And playing 2 extra league games further waters down the league. 20 wins is not a magic number in this league. 4 years ago, the league champion LSU Tigers got an 8 seed in the NCAAs in a year where the league was 6th in RPI. Beyond Florida, this league is very mediocre. All of those bad non conference losses by Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi St. and others are biting the league as a whole in the arse right now.

Also, right now,LSU has exactly 3 wins over top 100 teams...Missouri, Texas A&M, and NW State. That's not nearly enough. Also, LSU has 9 wins vs. teams with RPI over 200. That's way too many. Of LSU's 6 league wins, 4 of them are almost worthless RPI wise...Vandy is 164, SC is 209, and MSU is 225 (2 wins over them).

The SEC had NEVER had teams with such horrible RPIs as it does this year.

So you see an 8 seed in NIT, making a run at the NCAA.....

That being said, if we won out we'd still miss the NCAA tourney IMO.

So, you're saying that the NCAA would pass on a team that was 21-8 (before the SEC tourney),12-6 in conference, and won 9 of their last 10 conference games?

LSUgrad, thank you for providing a brother with some knowledge. That helps me understand that LSU has a much tougher road ahead of them. If 20 wins don't get them in, then their only chance of making it would be to win the SEC tourney. Maybe 21 wins is the magic number.

IMO we go 4-2 over the last six. Finish reg season 19-10 (10-8). Get two in SEC tourney 21-11. High seed in the NIT.

Very possible. Two years ago, Alabama went 12-4 in the SEC, had 21 wins and didn't get a bid.
