The committee gives all these teams respect for beating LSU (barely might I add) but then doesn't give LSU any respect. Its garbage

Meh, 1 foot is all we needed, at home.

Auburn has some solid losses too, Georgia and Texas A&M.
Good stuff.

LSU should've beaten Florida

Sadly when you go through a coaching change mid season it is natural to not get the benefit of the doubt anymore due to uncertainty. It is what it is. If you are getting all ate up with the committee decisions this year with us you need to take a step back and reevaluate your life.

How about don't lose to an injury riddled Fla team at home and this isn't a discussion.

Also, we didn't get blown out by anybody. All of our losses were against good or great teams. Just goes to show you that we must win championships to get respect. I am hoping Coach O can put it all together with recruiting and good hires to get us back to championship caliber. We are a lot closer than most people would believe. Recruiting to our needs, especially on the O line, could get us over the top. Anyway, I am optimistic.

Just posted this in another thread:
Right? We lose to Bama by 10 and fall like a rock. They are protecting Fla as usual with Tenn still being ranked in the Top 25. Making it 2 out of their 3 losses coming from Top 25 teams. However; LSU's 4 L's hold no water with 2 of the 4 playing for their conference championships and the other 2 ranked in the Top 15. Not to mention that Fla L's are not even close. Tenn by 10, Ark by 21 and FSU by 18.... The Tigers lose 4 games by a total of 23 points! Wow just wow!

Just wait until they put Michigan in the final top 4 along with Ohio State, even if Washington wins the PAC-12.
Michigan is a national brand. Washington isn't. In the BCS era, Washington would get in with a win. Now, it's not automatic.
This was the ultimate purpose of the committee - strip out objectivity and data driven metrics, and simply go with the "eye test". Eye test, of course, meaning the teams that would garner the best ratings.

LSU has 4 losses.
What else did you say?

quote:Correct. If this were not the case, we would have each P5 conference champion plus one wild card / independent in a six-team playoff. Simple, unless your design is to maximize revenue.

And probably should've beaten three of them.

definitely.
If Harris just runs or throws that ball away, we probably beat Wisky
If Les Miles could manage a clock at all, we have a good shot at Auburn
If Guice actually got the playcall right instead of trying to pump up the crowd, we probably beat Florida

1 foot at home vs Florida.
1 second away at Auburn
1 yard farther on the 50+ yarder by Wisconsin kicker.
1 and only loss to #1 Alabama
Beauty of this game though..

then doesn't give LSU any respect
are they supposed to give us a participation trophy?
the key word is in your title LOSSES.
win one of them and we're in a better spot. win two and we're borderline top 10.
win 3 and we're in the playoffs.
but we didn't. we lost.

LSU has finally moved up as a program enough to be happy with losing 4 times to ranked teams! Hello 1998!!
Hey but they were close losses and our new HC talks like us!

Couldn't agree more. Most people here don't remember how bad we were in the 90s. I know that the terrible state of the football program influenced my decision to go to Mississippi State in 97 instead of staying home. I really hate to see us making conservative coaching decisions, I have this eeking feeling that we are about to witness a major downturn in the quality of the program.
