theft in the barn
There have been many plays and kicks with one second left. Stole Gages and Etlings moment.

Les Miles is still our coach if the touchdown is allowed...

That would have been fine Chicken

Agreed, and we'd be in a much better spot than we're in now if that were the case.

Now compare this to the FG against Troy

It's comical and infuriating watching guys be lackadaisical trying to get lined up when there is 1 second left in the game and the game is on the line.
ETA: And let's be honest, there was probably some shite situation where we called a timeout on offense because of some substitution package with 10 seconds on the play clock. That timeout would have been very useful there.

should have been 2 seconds left before the last play...

The play prior, an Auburn defender was clearly offsides. No call.
Had that flag been thrown, LSU would have had plenty of time.
But alas SEC gonna SECWF

Considering the season so far, I think 99% of the fan base would prefer this.

All players must be set for 1 second after the ready for play is signaled. The clock starts when the ready for play is signaled. By rule, a legal snap can not happen with only 1 second on the clock when the clock will start on the ready.
It doesn't matter where the ref was standing.

one of our wide receivers got out of bounds by the clock still ran

That was two plays before AU was offsides if memory serves
Posted on 10/11/17 at 4:25 pm to CubsFanBudMan
That is foolishness if players are set at the ready signal.

I think they let them play until he went out of bounds and then declared forward momentum for play to be stop but still took off the time.

First play of the drive - Chark drops a ball that hits him in the hands. Would have been a 20 yard play if he caught it and probably completely changes the momentum of that drive.

We need that slinging Etling again. He made some darn nice runs there also.
