1998. A bad tiger team slaughters a ranked Miss St team proving that we own their arse for all eternity. And yes I know we lost the next year.

Still can't believe no one was arrested or charges made.

Anybody know what Bowe said?

Yeah, I was there and was definitely a strange month, sat in that same building early Dec. watched us get our heads handed to us by UGA then late Dec. we stomp Da U! Remember all we heard before was how we had NO chance to beat them and would get killed! What a turn of emotions that year was: Katrina, Rita, Tenn. then like 10 straight wins including one of my favorite wins over Gumps (16-13), UGA then UM!

As a former newspaper guy.. I have to say this is a brilliant lead from an AP writer.

We lost the UGA game simply because the guys ran out of steam after beginning the year with Katrina (ti was later reported that our guys lost an average of about 10-20 lbs. per man after Katrina) and then playing something like 10 straight weeks. The Miami win showed what this team was capable of when it was (finally, for the first time all season) well rested. Without the disruption of Katrina, we wouldn't have lost to either Tenn. or UGA and would have played for the NC.

Curley Hallman was 3-1 against Mississippi State while the HC at LSU. Those games account for nearly 20% of ALL Hallman-led wins, and 30% of Hallman's SEC victories.

In 1992, a team that was shut out by Tennessee and Ole Miss scored 24 points on Mississippi State, while holding the Bulldogs to 3 points, which was by 9 points (we gave up 12 to Tulane) our best defensive showing of the year. IF you remove the Mississippi State game from 1992, we gave up an average of almost 26 points a game - with that game it drops to a 23 2/3 points a game.

I was there that night and I saw Bowe sprinting from midfield to our dressing room with something in his hand. Not far behind him were 3 or 4 Canes. They got to tussling in the tunnel and players from both sides showed up and the fight was on. Word was that Bowe swiped a Cane helmet from one of his Miami buddies.

Yes sir that was a miserable experience. Soaked completely and getting assaulted on the field. I felt sincere redemption that night in 2005.

Yes, in 88 it was in Tiger Stadium. That's what I was agreeing to. Redemption came in Atlanta in 05.
