Kind of a spin off. What made you a LSU fan? For me, I was 11 years old, my mother had decided to return to college at Ole Miss. Wasn't really up to date with college sports even though I played football myself. When LSU traveled to Ole Miss in '03 and I saw our fans with pimp hats on decked out in purple fur coats I was sold. Plus the game itself was the best game I've ever seen in person. Such a hard hitting passionate game. Love my tigers.
P.s. Geaux to hell Ole Miss

My whole family is full of LSU football fans save for my dad who favors the Tide. I didn't really get into football until 2007 when my family was driving over the new bridge in BR to get back to NOLA and it happened to be the night of the Auburn game. I've never been so amazed by a sight in my entire life of seeing Death Valley lit up in all of her glory against a dark sky. We rushed home to watch the game but my mom made me go to sleep before the end. The next day my parents told me about the amazing play at the end and I was hooked on LSU football since.

eta: I'm currently getting my stuff together to go to school at LSU.

I was in the student section that night. Between that game, the Florida game and the VT game, that was my favorite year of LSU football. The '11 season was awesome too, but the last game left a sour taste...

ETA: Been a Tiger fan since I was born.

Visiting the KA house when my brother lived there and attending games. fricking sold after that. Rooted for them before, but those trips solidified it.

Dad brought me to games since I was born. I don't even remember my first game I was so young. Been going to 2-4 games a year since then and I just can't get enough.

My aunt was a secretary for the anthropology professor when I was just a kid. I spent two weeks out of my summer break at her house. Most of my days spent were touring the campus while with her. A good six year streak of visiting the LSU campus left find memories.

My mom was from BR and went to LSU. Walked about a mile to school. She was friends with Jerry Stovall. When he became coach, it was the same time I was getting into football. Just always been a fan, from day one. Then went to grad school there.

Listening to John Ferguson call the games was always exciting...(I am old)

Chris Jackson. I was born and raised in Massachusetts so no ties to LSU at all until I saw him play.

We moved around a lot when I was a kid, so I typically would follow the popular team in the area, just to fit in. I didn't really know a bunch about my Louisiana roots.

My dad was going to a bible college in Graceville, FL, and he was in a class with a die hard bama fan. In the '86 season, dad took some masking tape and taped:

LSU 14
Bama 10
Final

on the back window of our old Ford Escort and drove around the campus, through the grass areas, just to make sure he and everyone else saw it. I got on board after that

Whole family are die hard fans. Dad took me to my first game when I was still in his sack. Mom took me shortly after I was conceived. When I was born, instead of crying, I said Geaux Tigers. I've been to every major game, even if my age doesn't align with the age of the game.

Am I doing this right?

it's a natural evolution - I was born in south Louisiana...this is why I have a hard time understanding why other natives root for teams east of us without any ties to those universities...it's just puzzling to me?
