The 2016 LSU Defense has faced mobile quarterbacks before and fared OK.

Mississippi State - Nick Fitzgerald (120 passing yards, 13 rushing vs. LSU)
Jacksonville State - Eli Jenkins (248 passing, 82 rushing, 1 TD, 1 INT).
Ole Miss - Chad Kelly (218 passing, 1 TD, 2 INT, 56 rushing)

Give him the Manziel treatment, and make him throw the ball against DBU.

If Beckwith and Riley make good reads and the front 5 keep them clean they'll eat him up.

Their passing game is not good. They do a lot of screens to the WR and hitches. Also hurts stare down his targets. DBU will lock their WRs down. LSU just need to focus on stopping the run.

Bamas Oline are still monsters. I though have much more confidence in stopping hurts and their RBs this year, than I did that we could stop Henry coming down hill at us last year.

A lot more depth on our DLine this year. God Bless Lacouture, but glad we have who we have playing. Too bad Valentine won't get his head out his arse, we could use him too

This. We are talking about let DBs do their job, but biggest thing will be tackling. Can DT and KT make the clean tackles in open field? That will be a BIG indicator of their passing success.

LSU holding Kelly to 218 was an accomplisment compared to Bama's 421 & Auburn 465

Key needs to make Hurts miserable

They've been using Scott at Qb in practice to give the defense a good look. That's perfect I feel, a crafty Qb who manipulates the defense with his mobility and makes smart decisions. I think the defense will be prepared. We need the interior ready to play and stuff runs.

They also do a lot of illegal picking and blocking downfield during pass plays.

This, Bama gets away with more holding and illegal blocking than anything
