Here's a compilation of construction projects that are currently taking place or will soon be breaking ground at/around LSU.
Possible OT? Wasn't sure where it belonged
LSU Foundation
IIRC, it should break ground around the end of the year on the corner of Skip Bertman Drive/Nicholson. It'll also be the centerpiece of the Nicholson Gateway Project which includes new graduate housing, retail, parking garage, a championship plaza area, & a mixed-use area with a trolly from downtown to campus. More Information
Gentrification bitches
LSU College of Engineering
Renovation/Expansion of Patrick F. Taylor (CEBA) breaks ground right after the Alabama game.
Gymnastics Complex (in progress)
LSU UREC
They're about to start the last phase of the expansion. Scheduled to be complete 2016
Huey P. Long Fieldhouse Renovation (timeline unknown)
Tennis Facility (in progress)
Alpha Phi Sorority (2016)
Kappa Sigma Fraternity (2016)
LSU Athlete Dining Hall
Cypress Hall (opening fall 2015)
Private Investments near LSU
The Standard (currently in progress) Luxury student housing adjacent to the north side of campus.
Cane Land
Will be a rum distillery on River Rd between LSU/Downtown and will feature a tasting room, bar and retail area in addition to the production areas and an outdoor space for events. Should be a prime location once the River District & Water Campus are built. Plan to start building late this year.

About to pump up development on long overdue projects. Our facilities are starting to become outdated compared to the rest of the SEC.

That's very cool stuff. Thanks for sharing

They're actually almost done. Will be dorms & classrooms for the College of Human Sciences & Education. They're being built north of the enchanted forest in that parking lot

damn, isn't that surrounded by ghetto? The campus is getting too spread out. Just think about how far that is from the commuter parking lot south of the business school.

hmm not really anymore. It's slowly being pushed back & with The Standard being built, it will only continue to help.
I agree, it's a far arse walk but the freshmen will have to have a major in the College of Human Sciences & Education to live in these dorms so they really won't have any classes on that part of campus. They're most likely be in the quad, Lockett, etc.

I still think the LSU pool at UREC is an absolute joke.

It'll never be ready in time

They re-did some of the bus routes so that you can get to the other side of campus via bus as well.

Do you know when they're planning to redo Tower & Fieldhouse Drives? IIRC, they were suppose to start this past summer. Tower Dr between S. Campus Dr & Stadium Dr has been blocked off by those two pots for awhile but nothing has advanced since.

Great job on this compilation! What's the building that's drawn in where the women's softball field used to be? Also, what will become of the current tennis court stadium area as there are a stadium, 12 courts and a parking lot there. The women's gymnastics facility is going up next to the practice courts at the PMac but am curious to see what they do with the tennis area now that the new one is well under way. I wish they would bulldoze the natatorium and use that entire area where the current natatorium is, the courts are and the softball field was to make an incredible swimming complex for the swim/dive teams. I've read we have the worst facilities in the conference and it really hurts our ability to recruit. Somebody suggest this, lol. And am glad the tennis teams are getting an upgrade as we were the only SEC school without indoor courts. Thanks!
