LSU checks in at No. 10 in preseason football poll ..phil steele

With the start of the football season just around the corner, that means it's time for the preseason polls to begin to popping up.
Phil Steele has published his 2015 Preseason Power Poll and the LSU Tigers check in at No. 10.
Steele offers an explanation on how his poll is calculated, "To evaluate teams, I rely on nine different of power ratings that look at different factors. The Power Poll is an aggregate of all nine sets of power ratings, so it tends to be the most accurate summation of how I rate each team. In essence, the Power Poll is the result of numerous computer rankings that have been developed over many years of close study."
The SEC landed seven teams in the top 20, led by Alabama at No. 3. followed by Georgia (7), LSU (10), Auburn (14), Ole Miss (15), Arkansas (18) and Tennessee (19).
Phil Steele's Top 20:
1. Ohio St
2. TCU
3. Alabama
4. USC
5. Baylor
6. Oregon
7. Georgia
8. Stanford
9. Florida St
10. LSU
11. Michigan St
12. UCLA
13. Notre Dame
14. Auburn

That's easily the highest I've seen LSU in a preseason poll. Auburn seems to be in a free fall since the end of last season. Looks like as good of a list as you can get at this point.

Meh. I guess ESPN using a made up computer formula is about the same as Phil using a made up computer formula.

Frankly, I do not see how anyone has any clue about what to expect from any of these teams at this time. I think the BCS had a good point by not releasing rankings until the season was well under way. So far as LSU is concerned, how can anyone rate this team in the top 20 given its horrid offense and no QB? I am interested to see how it is 'ranked' by other polls.
How is it that Alabama is installed at 3? I guess we will find out.

don't you ever get tired of your constant trolling? Seriously. Almost every thread you are in you are trashing LSU. Vegas has them in the top 10 as favorite to win the NC. I'm sure they know nothing and just throw out random lines. To answer your question, this may be the most TALENTED offensive team LSU has ever had, in terms of playmakers and a very solid Oline. That horrid offense also includes the number 7 overall pick to win the Heisman in vegas. Also, BH was a freshman. Why don't you shut your fkn ignorant mouth regarding whether or not LSU has a QB. You don't have any fkn idea how the QB's will perform this year, with a year under their belt. I swear, I'm so sick of the absolute ignorant posters like you on here.

You act as if it's bs that LSU is ranked #10. You might be surprised to learn that they are the (or were a month ago) 9th overall favorite to win the NC. I'm sure Vegas is just using some made up poll also.

Yes because I defend LSU and condemn the ignorant bastards on here that are constantly negative. Of course, you take offense to me defending LSU because, in fact, you are one of the negative mf's that thinks they know much more than they actually do. I've said it before and will say it again, I hope that LSU can have the same results over the next 10 years that they have had with Miles over the last 10 years. I'm not surprised to see LSU at #10, I actually think that's a good list (Oregon is too high). I just don't put much stock into a formula ESPN used based on recruiting rankings that had LSU at #5. Not saying the team isn't good enough, the formula is just bad.
But then again, if you are going to follow one preseason poll where it's total guessing, why not follow them all?

Usually Phil Steele releases his pre-season poll based on how he predicts the teams to end the season ranked.

I wonder if you realize that the 2014 had a bad offense and QB play? You have no clue what the 2015 team will have. You want to not prejudge other teams but yet you have already passed judgment on LSU. Why is this? Are you confused or just mentally retarded? My apologies if you are actually retarded.
