I used to be a true LSU basketball fan. I mean my experience goes all the way back to Macklin, Cook, Martin, Scales and Sims. I sort of drifted away when Dale departed and I moved away, but got interested again briefly when we returned to New Orleans live. Then, not so much because the team was depressing.
So, is Trent Johnson beginning to show that he may know what he's doing?
Who's on the team? That's not really that much of a joke. Someone give me a rundown of who's who. It looks like they may make some noise this year with a young team.

I used to be a big LSU basketball fan too, and would go to almost all of the home games and a few road games. My interest waned when Dale Brown thought he could put the program on cruise control, and when that didn't work he had to sell his soul to the devil to try and right the ship. And we know how that turned out.
Other than those 2 good runs we've had, 1 with Brady, and the other with Trent using Brady's & Collis Temple JR's players, it's been pretty dismal.
I watched some of that LSU vs Bama basketball game the other night, and this LSU team doesn't look like it's going anywhere this season...My interest in LSU basketball is very low.

I'd definitely base your opinion off of a four minute stretch in one game.
99% of LSU basketball "fans" are like this, though.
If they can't be a front running bandwagoner they're aren't interested.
Actually, the baseball fans are like that, too.

Nah, the baseball fanbase gets pretty darn excited, even for a fringe tourney team

You judge a team off of one game?
The team starts 2 freshman 2 sophomore and a junior before Johnny O got hurt. He has been replaced by Storm Warren who has played well.
Hamilton is our best inside threat. He is a 7'0 JR. Very good ball skills.
Hickey the PG is a freshman. He has been inconsistent shooting the ball, but looks like he knows how to run the offense. Has a bright future, but will never be a dominant scorer because of size.
Stringer who I believe is a sophomore, please correct me if I am wrong, was sick most of the season due to an illness. He is a good scorer but again undersized but has great potential.
Ralston Turner is an all around player who can shoot it well and has ball skills. He is a big body that can really play.
Overall this is a really good defensive team and average offense. They didn't give up 60 points or more for a stretch of 7 or 8 games. They beat Marquette, Rutgers on the road, Georgia Tech, Houston on the road, and competed well against a very good Virginia team that almost beat Duke last night.
Ala has won a stretch of about 26 out of 27 home games, not many teams go there and win. This team is will win anywhere from 7 to 10 conf games and have an outside shot at the tournament but most likely an NIT. This team has a good nucleus and I feel a very good coach. I think they are on the up and up...

FTFY
Go to a midweek game or a Sunday game in the spring and holla at me.
It looks like a scene from I Am Legend.
And if the team's .500 or so, they'll bail in a heartbeat.
A large part of the LSU fanbase are front runners. This primarily comes from the fact that there isn't shite to do in BR. So, people want to be seen at "where it's happening" or in the case of the seats between the 30s at Tiger Stadium (or the grandstand at Alex Box, or the lower bowl at the PMAC), they want people to know how awesome they are that they have kick arse tickets, and there's really no other way to wave your dick around in BR.
That way, when the basketball team is REALLY good, or the baseball team hosts a regional, they get to be the big shot with tickets.

maybe so, but I think he can score of the dribble or at least create shots. I don't think he is only a catch and shoot guy
Posted on 1/13/12 at 9:55 am to Saintsfanbrav23
I thought he could be that guy, but let's be honest, how often this season has he taken a guy off the dribble and scored? Not often.
Posted on 1/13/12 at 9:57 am to josh336
well, he definitely needs to develop that part of his game, because he is too big not to be able to take a guy of the dribble and rise up for a jumper. We need another scorer. Do you know anything about recruiting for next year?
