LSU basketball SEC schedule analysis and dispelling myths...

LSU is 9-3 in SEC, 6-0 home, 3-3 road.
Something that has been tossed around and even today on CBS, Gottlieb said LSU's toughest SEC schedule is upcoming. I think this is disingenuous. Let's look at FACTS!
LSU's 3 SEC road losses have been to the top 5 of 14 SEC teams. Top 4 really since LSU is #1 in SEC.
@UF - 7-4 SEC, #4
@TAMU - 7-5 SEC, #5
@USCe - 8-4 SEC, #3
LSU's road wins have come against:
@Vandy - 6-5 SEC, tied #6
@Bama - 5-6 SEC, #9
@AU - 3-8 SEC, tied #11
LSU's remaining road games come against:
@Tenn - 5-7, tied #10
@Ark - 5-7, tied #10
@UK - 9-3, tied #1
For comparison, UK's SEC road losses:
@LSU - 9-3 SEC, #1
@AU - 3-8 SEC, tied #11
@Tenn - 5-7, tied #10
For comparison, UK's SEC road wins:
@Bama - 5-6 SEC, #9
@Ark - 5-7, tied #10
@USCe - 8-4 SEC, #3
For comparison, UK's remaining road games come against:
@TAMU - 7-5 SEC, #5
@Vandy - 6-5 SEC, tied #6
@UF - 7-4 SEC, #4
===
All of that, point being, LSU has arguably played the toughest road schedule of the top teams in the SEC, losing to #3, #4, #5 SEC teams. UK has lost to the #10 and #11 SEC teams with a win over #3 today.
Just food for thought.

LSU and Kentucky have by far the hardest conference schedules.
It would be fair if the game in Lexington determines the regular season champion.
It would be a shame if South Carolina won the conference with the pansy assed schedule they played.

One game at a time. Bama is next and they have been on fire lately.

Come on coach, I was just trying to give the negas some perspective.

Sorry I take back my comment. I have a MAJOR bet with a poster on here that we finish 13-5 or better in conference. I made that bet right before the Wake Forest game. The main reason I posted that was because I am trying to pace myself and not get too excited.

1980 LSU vs UK in the PMAC. Would love to see a game like that again for it all. Oh and the road team won it to win the SEC

Our remaining schedule:
Alabama
@ Tennessee
@ Arkansas
Florida
Mizzou
@ Kentucky
With a possible 15 - 3 SEC record if we go undefeated, I see us probably going 13 - 5 at worst, more likely 14 - 6. Key games are @ Arkansas, Florida, @ Kentucky. Not to discredit the other teams but those are our best shots at not winning
I think we're sitting in a pretty good spot with our schedule

I agree.
The OP was a relative comparison to the other 9-3 SEC team.
Even positigers like myself think we need to hold serve at home and win one more road game to LOCK an NCAAT bid.
Here's my take:
Prior to @UK, I hope we're 13-4 SEC play, winning 16 of last 21 games played. That's a stone cold NCAAT lock brothers.
ETA: When I say "win at home" I mean we need to win at home, not that the game is a given. Win at home.

Drizz told my friend the exact same scenario, and I think it will happen.
Also brought me back to high school days in 1980 when UK played us last game at home in the PMAC. It was for the championship, and we lost in OT.
I fricking hate you Kyle Macy

Best thing about that year was LSU won the SECT, was a #1 seed and made the Elite Eight. UK lost in Sweet 16.
I was but a child at the time, 8-9 y.o., but Kyle Macy got schooled in my driveway 2-3 hours every day. B!tch.

I don't want usc to win anything bit their non conference schedule doesn't havery shite to do with winning the sec. If they win the reg season championship, they will have earned it and deserved it. Incredibly poor logic on your part

Their Sec schedule is ridiculously easy compared to ours this season.

South Carolina's conference schedule is the easiest conference schedule I have ever seen. But with that said they won probably their toughest game which was at A&M.
