So maybe if he could "accidentally" break a finger like Bregman, we may have shot!

Perfect Game still has him in their Top 100

So does BA.

On the current roster I think the biggest name to watch is Ibarra...with Eades, Jones, Ross, Rumbelow, and LaMarche leaving.

Of the signees I think Longhi is the key to watch, with Williams still not a realistic possibility.

Alex Bregman was in both Top 100's too, fwiw.

He was approached by some team in the 2nd round and was asked if he would sign, he said no, he was only signing if he was drafted in the 1st round hence his tweet after the 1st round ended confirming he was coming to LSU. Bottom line is that he is not a 29th rd draft pick, he should have been a 2nd rounder but turned the team down, whoever it was.

I think people are underestimating our chances at Justin Williams. I think he makes it here and becomes an easy top 10 pick in 3 years

Has zero to do with anything.

1. He can't be considered completely "off the map".
2. They know what Williams is. A guy that projects as a corner defender with big power potential, but raw. It's just a matter of how much they're willing to invest or risk in the potential.

Bregman was known as a hitter but did not have a position. They didn't think he could play short, and didn't think he had the power potential to be a very high pick as a 3rd baseman. He had the injury so they didn't get to see what kind of catcher he could be. It was basically the perfect storm that landed him here. Without the injury, or if he had been a catcher prior to his senior season, he never would have made it to campus.

ETA: I'm not saying Williams is going to be a definite first round pick. We have a better chance of getting him now than we did 6 months ago. But it is still an extreme long shot.

Spoke with Justin and his father today. Justin's heart is set on coming to LSU, it will all come down to how much money he is offered. His family isn't bad off though, so it will take at least mid 6 figures to keep him from being on campus. He's fall can be credited to worries about his lack of speed and what scouts say is an arm that is just approaching average.
