Why is it LSU baseball uses Demarini as opposed to the Baton Rouge based Marucci? Seems odd.

TIA

If I remember correctly, the team voted on it a couple of years ago, so that's what they went with.

Does it come up for a vote with each new team? Or is there like a contract for so many years?

I would have to think there is a contract...

I was told that Coach went with the company that offered the most money.

I know for a fact that a few years back they tried out several different bat models in fall practice. Now whether the coach had any influence on the final decision, who knows.

Seems reasonable. Im disappointed they didnt go with a local company, but maybe the demarini product is better.

At the time that they signed with DeMarini the Marucci bats were not as good as they are now. DeMarini's contract also included gloves (Wilson) and Marucci was not selling gloves at that time.

Hopefully once the contract is up, they give Marucci another shot.

Didn't Marucci have an issue with some of their bats being deemed illegal a few years ago? I'm sure they have fixed that by now.

Yeah. Easton has had the same problem once or twice. The new rules make it tough because these bat companies try to get as close to the limit without going over and they ended up over.

100% money. Demarini pays LSU and Marucci pays no on to use their bats.
