"We will break this down into last 10 year average, last 5 year average and last 3 year average to see which programs have gotten better/worse. Rank is SEC Rank, () is average national rank over the period.

Numbers are from the Director's Cup Standings"

9. Florida +0
10. Missouri -2
10. South Carolina -2
12. LSU -3

"Observations
- Mississippi State has done a great job upgrading the depth of their department. From 2006-2010 their average rank was 113. Their average rank from 2011-2015 was 62. That's really good work by Byrne and Stricklin.

- Tennessee is the opposite. From 2006-2010 their average was 15. From 2011-2015 their average rank was 34. That is a department wide collapse.

- Auburn had a smaller decline. From 2006-2010 their average was a rank of 23. From 2011-2015 their average was a rank of 32.

- Alabama and Arkansas are almost mirror images. Their 10 year average is 0.50 different, 5 year average 1.40 difference and 3 year average 1.00 different.

- Florida, Texas A&M, Georgia and LSU were consistently 1-4 in every measurement cycle"

Ranking SEC Athletic Departments : MSU and UK improve, AU and TN drop

TLDR: LSU was consistently #4 in every measurement cycle.

We can do better, and we will do better. Golf, gymnastics, and tennis will trend up with their improved facilities.

Thanks Geauxld. LSU's AD is so impressive because they are top notch in so many different sports across the spectrum.

Just goes to show you how far the sports that the average fan doesn't give two shits about can carry you.

Other than tennis, what sport has Georgia excelled at more than LSU during the last decade?

You could argue gymnastics, but LSU has been right behind the Bulldogs the last several years.

It sure as shite isn't baseball, softball, or even basketball (with the exception of a couple of really down years).

Backatcha SOS! What's more impressive to me is that LSU is doing as well as it's doing with both men's and women's basketball being at low points.

Add in the fact that Golf, gymnastics, and tennis have all just built new training and/or playing facilities, and the track program added meeting rooms and locker rooms to a refurbished Carl Maddox Field House...and the future looks bright.

The Football Operations Building is being added to and renovated as we speak.

Ten years after its grand-opening, the LSU Football Operations Building will be expanded and updated in 2016. The project will be funded by private donations to Tiger Athletic Foundation through the LSU Football Building Fund and will include expansions and updates to the weight room, training room, team locker room, coaches' offices and meeting rooms.

The Expansion of the Football Operations Facility

The Tiger Athletic Nutrition Center will break ground soon.

The Tiger Athletic Nutrition Center will serve as a resource to provide individualized nutritional meals for student-athletes at LSU. Full time chefs and nutritionists will be housed in the facility to provide expertise on balanced and nutritional diets to enhance this aspect of the overall athletic training process.

Also, look for additional TAF-funded projects to be announced later on this year. Most probably after the Legislature is out of session.

Have you heard anything in particular? I would love for LSU to overhaul Bernie Moore

Whatever makes you feel better people. Missing the tourney in basketball (or making it and getting one-and-done-d in embarrassing fashion), not sniffing the SECCG since the season about which we do not speak, and getting out smallballed in baseball since 2009. Everything else is WHO GIVES A shite. sorry, but Hornsby.

I am out of the loop these days, due to being away as much as I've been. Before I left though, I was hearing Tiger Stadium was being renovated in the premium areas on the west and east side, and the lower bowl concourses were -possibly- getting a makeover as well.

Alleva is on record as promising on-campus facilities for sand volleyball. Last I heard the old Dub Robinson tennis center was going to be remade as sand volleyball courts.

(Older pic-pre-2009)

I am really hoping for much-needed improvements to the PMAC. A new swimming facility would be a godsend.

Edit: I have not heard anything about Bernie Moore Stadium, but I share your sentiments.

No statistical difference between 15 and 16 over a 10 year cycle. Though LSU still needs to step it's game up in some of the smaller sports. I'd like to see Volleyball, Swimming, and Tennis competing for SEC titles.

Tennis will be trending up soon. The new tennis center is one of the best in the country.

Volleyball is in a pretty good place now that they have the PMAC sub basement all to themselves...

The swimming team needs a new facility to be competitive.
