What conference is Syracuse in now? I'm asking football obviously.

when was the last time LSU played in the Northeast?

it's too bad baseball weather doesn't really allow for it in the nonconference but i'd love to see Maineri return the Ivy League schools' trips to the Box at Yale's 6,000 seat stadium

Home and home does not equal Yankee stadium.

makes absolutely no sense for us to travel to Syracuse. This is really really stupid by out Athletic Department. A&M inks a deal with UCLA and we are trying with Syracuse? GTFO Alleva

The opinions on scheduling OOC games varies, but I personally wish we would limit it to one cream puff. Looks like Western Kentucky (Sun Belt) and Eastern Michigan (MAC) are already on the schedule. Syracuse would at least be a step up from those two. Not sure who the fourth would be, would sure like to see us go to 9 SEC games so we don't do this dick dance every year.

We are better than most though. Over the years we've at least played Va Tech, Oregon, Washington, UNC, West Virginia. 2011 schedule is an example of how it should be done.

I've argued before that our 2011 schedule prevented us from winning a National Championship. If we hadn't beaten Oregon in September, we'd have played them in January instead of Bama again.

But strictly from a fan's perspective, yes, the 2011 schedule was great. The only thing that would've been better was making the Oregon game a home and home like West Virginia was.

Agreed

LSU & Miles typically play up to the level of competition

I agree. Coming from someone that has only had the privilege of attending one game at TS, I would be extremely frustrated with getting directional schools at home, but Oregon, Wisconsin, TCU play elsewhere. I can't imagine how you feel about it. However, I would rather play in a kickoff classic than play Idaho or New Mexico State in Week 1. Not sure what the compromise is.

Yea, lets not have a home and home with Wisconsin, lets do it with freaking Syracuse. Way to get the fans rearing to go for a big non-conference road trip.

About a six-hour drive for me, so I wouldn't mind the Syracuse game. But I understand the so-so feelings a lot of you have about this proposal.

Personally, I'd rather see the Tigers play on campuses. We've been to the Jerry Dome twice, we're in Reliant this September, and at Lambeau in '16. Not to mention bowl sites. That's more than enough NFL venues.

Isn't Syracuse pretty terrible at foosball?

Eta: I just checked their record and they are about a .500 team the last 4-5 years with a couple 8-5 seasons sprinkled in. I guess we could do worse. They finished 7-6 with a bowl win last season

It makes a little more sense if you look at it from a recruiting standpoint. We are becoming a more national brand so in that regard I'm ok with playing Cuse. I don't care where in NY we play as long as our home game is at home.

Syracuse isn't a bad opponent. Hell of a lot better than some directional U.
