Dude, you are usually spot on but I have to disagree? Carmouche was woefully ineffective for most of this game. At one point, he was 1 for 9 from the field. He missed a point blank undefended layup and multiple wide open looks at 3. This was the worst game he has played by far. Sure, his stat line looks good but his overall play was poor. I realize he played well on defense and passed the ball well but he was a liability offensively on a night where he couldn't afford to be.

By "highly efficient", he was talking about the SoS rating criteria that Carmouche's stat-line produced.

Sorry for the confusion... While his shooting was absymal until the last 60 seconds he was able to produce in other spots, but the "Highly efficient" gmaes streak was really about games with above a 45 Adj SoS rating. His stats turned out solid, even though he shot like Shaq at the free throw line the entire game.
His 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 15 points is a solid stat line for anyone. I agree that Carmouche had a very poor game from all other sides, but from a statistical standpoint, his game turned out solid.

I've never seen one of your bball threads before as I usually avoid the TigerRant. Can you link me to something that explains your statistical analysis?

And I agree. I definitely think Carmouche had a poor game, but statistics do help us evaluate players. He has been very solid in 5 of the last 7 and he continued to fill the stat line in each of them (besides the UCI game).

Didn't feel that way at all to me. We were down by double digits with more than 5 minutes left and never came close to threatening after.

LSU is a team that works on emotion and fast runs. LSU was down 12 with 5 minutes left in the 1st half and still led at halftime. Overall, throughout the game until there were 2:30 left I thought we were in the position we needed to be in.
LSU will have to hit clutch shots to win games in the SEC. They started hitting shots too late and weren't able to make it all the way back, but I don't think we were out of it even if we were down in the second half.

I also agree that JOB doesn't have a high basketball IQ he brings the ball down too low where smaller defenders can steal it and some of the fouls he commits don't make sense. With that being said he is vital to our success as is Hickey, who to me has a great basketball IQ. Carmouche's stat line doesn't equate to the game he had last night as well as Coleman. Maybe it's time to start Shavon is he struggles over the next few games. Really felt like Morgan would have been more of a factor as well he has a good stroke from 3 guess just a little too impatient with him but he'll be a player down the line.

Positives were Hickey and Stringer and to a lesser extent Andrew. Negatives were Carmouche, Coleman and JOB and the freshmen contributing very little.
Hickey played just fantastic defense on Sullivan. Stringer was just about the only one hitting from outside and made some nice threes. I am surprised that Andrew didn't get more minutes on a night where he played pretty good and Coleman sucked and JOB was just mediocre.
Carmouche had his worse game ever. Even when he got a steal he would either turn it over or blow a layup. Hurried his 3's and kept shooting them even though he couldn't make one. Turnover's were key at times with Carmouche getting 4 and JOB and Coleman 3 each. O'Bryant is passing it back out some now but he still seems to take that 16 foot fall away jumper at the worst of times. Tried to bull his way to the basket too many times and picked up fouls as a result.
Disappointing loss in a game we could have and should have won. We play Auburn ten times and I think we win eight. Let's hope Johnny Jones can keep their spirits up, get more production out of freshmen and maybe we can win the games we should after the loss to Florida.

I think we lose to Florida but beat SC at home and UGA on the road. I'd be happy with a 2-2 start.

I think Coleman will get better offensively. Last night he was get down on himself which hurt him that game and I'm sire he's going to work hard these couple of days and get his mind right. Basketball is a mental game just like every other sport. He will come out fiesty Saturday. Hopefully.

Carmouche scored the majority of his points after the game was decided so I'd take issue with his efficiency. His missed layups and turnovers kept us from taking control of the game earlier and defensively I think he's had better games.
I have been disappointed in our last three games. I realise where we are talent-wise. But talent is relative and I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a better showing relative to our talent-level the last 3 games.
Having said that I'll be there Saturday, and I'll be hopeful that our best days this season are ahead of us.

I noticed that whenever JOBIII got the ball down low, Auburn double teamed him. He actually kicked it out a fair amount of times, but that's where a lack of a true scoring threat hurts us. Just think of JOB kicking it out to a wide open Jarell Martin.
