Looking at the schedule, is it really just a 3 game season?

Not trying to overlook anyone, but as a fan, my mental preparation is immaterial.

Looking at the other 9 games, I feel pretty good about them all. Of course, Wisconsin, Auburn, Florida, and Texas A&M will put up a fight, but I think LSU will win those games.

Is this all really just about a 4 week stretch in October-November?

It seems that even if LSU is 7-0 going into the Ole Miss game, we still won't know much.

I know I'm not breaking any new ground here. I just wanted to highlight how important those 3-4 weeks will be in getting where we want to go.

Winning at Jordan-Hare and the Swamp are not easy things to do. Yes we are more talented and better coached but it's football. Better teams get beat all the time. Especially on the road against quality competition. If LSU comes into those games with the right mindset and avoids turnover/penalty trouble they win these games. But to say it's a 3 game season is ridiculous.

We play in the SEC. It's a 12 game season.

4 really tough games: @ Florida, Ole Miss, Bama, at Arky
3 other legit games: "@"Wisconsin, at Auburn, at A&M

So it's certainly more than a 3 game season, but those "big 3 games" all in a row are the biggest test.

All of you know what I am talking about.

Obviously, we still have to play the game.

But, I feel pretty confident that LSU will win those games. Of course, we might lose and anything can happen. Of course. I said as much.

But, to see the whole season and all of the main question marks clumped up in 3 games again gives this year a different feel to me.

We haven't beat FL, Auburn and Arkansas away since 92 reconstruction was implemented. Just saying.... Beat them and bama and it will be a historical season for LSU! That's how tough it will be lol

@ UF is never an easy game even when we think it will be

@ auburn: always have a habit of coming out strong when everyone finally gives up on them

Basically it's often not the teams you worry about preseason that present the challenges during the season.

When we go into November in contention I will base my optimism on how well our defense has been playing. If we are holding average teams to 10 instead of mid to upper 20's I will feel confident we finish strong.

The closer we get. I think our 3 toughest games will be Bama, @Florida, @A&M.
"Legit" games would then be Ole Miss, @Arkansas, @Wisconsin, @Auburn

Add Arkansas to that list also... Those are the 3 teams historically that's given us the most trouble on the road. But this year is a good year to do it bc auburn and FL seem like they are a little down this year but Arky will be a tough tough game. We can beat em but it's gonna be a rough one especially if we beat bama. I hope we win them all and look great doing it but it's gonna be a rough long season as always. Can't wait though and I'm sure the team is ready for the challenge. Hopefully we play with a new sense of urgency we haven't seen since 2011.

Not even close to a 3 game season. Auburn, Florida, A&M will all be dog fights. Hell even Miss State could give us trouble. LSU better bring their A game every week if they want to be in the hunt.

Actually best case would be a 15 game season. SEC Title Game, Playoffs, Championship.

It's really a one game season. Miles can lose 4 games, but as long as he beats Bama, he gets another year.
