Yeah and all of a sudden Les is going to develop a QB after having NEVER recruited and developed a QB in his LSU career

I love how, just because he came from a JC, people pretend that Mett was not recruited to come to LSU. Did he really just show up on campus, tell Les he was ready to play, then start all of those games despite never showing up to practice or film study?

that's what i heard. i was told Mett caught a cab to Baton Rouge...walked up to Miles during a practice...and told Miles "Hey...i heard y'all need a QB. Give me a fricking uniform."

that's just what i heard though so take it with a grain of salt.

You can't have a good completion % when 90% of your passing plays are play action, 1 route bombs or 2 wr routes. options are limited

I agree and he had some great games and looked like he was about to make the next step, how many passes did he throw in the biggest game in LSU history where we didn't cross the 50 yard line?

Who made that coaching decision? 21-0

blame QB development but I also blame early season development of the passing game in general. LSU opted not throw more than 12

They def were trying to protect Harris. Miles has not forgotten 08. But the progress was there. Slow, but he was coming around. The wheels fell off when the oline got dominated.

No number of pass attempts prior to the bama game is going to help when your line gets pushed around all day.

This is so not true. LSU has rarely used two tes this year. Know why? Because Gordon, Smith and Jeter have all missed time due to injury this season.

LSU ran 21 straight plays in a 3 wr 1 te formation against Arkansas. They went I on the goal line and scored.

I never take anyone seriously that says all LSU uses is a one wr route. Watch the games, then come back and have a knowledgeable discussion.

I still don't see the Miles had to change the offense argument. If the last 3 games didn't prove that Miles will allow them to throw the ball nothing will.

Now needing to get someone in to develop QB's is definitely a change that is needed.

watch us run toss dives into BAMA's NFL front and our boys not even having a chance to win.

No matter what plays we run, we are not going to beat Alabama as long as the two head coaches of the schools remain in place. We are also not going to seriously contend for any divisional titles, much less any other kind, as long as our current head coach is here. But, apparently, LSU fans are just fine with that.

7 years out of the last 8, we've been essentially out of the SEC West race with fully a QUARTER of the conference schedule still left to play. If for 7 out of 8 games you not only didn't win, but couldn't even get to the 4th quarter with a realistic chance to win, you would call it a disastrous season. Doing the same thing on a season scale 7 out of 8 years in the SEC race should be worse, but it's not for LSU, the all-time great worshippers of mediocrity.

Schools and their fans get what they deserve...or at least what they demand. Leave it to LSU to demand to be a mid-tier program in the SEC West, if that.

i think you also said we would never beat Florida again as well. You're almost as bad as Peej

And what does that have to do with his development? I'll give you a hint, it rhymes with hero.

what needs to change is les's approach to developing qb's.

1)in the early season he refuses to give the qb meaningful pass plays. he acts like we shouldn't pass unless we're behind. it's our running games job to get and keep the lead. therefore we don't get passing reps until we hit the damn bad arse teams.

2) interceptions are not allowed. this kills lots of drives because sacks and 3 and outs are also bad. it also fricks with our qb's mind.

imo, Les's idea of "change" is an improved offense, an offense that does the exact same things as current but executes better.

if you think les is gonna fire cam, hire a spread OC and completely change the scheme of his offense you are in for some damn frustration.

well the 'change in scheme' has been discussed as 'coming next year' for about the last 5 years

you really think the offense is gonna be overhauled? The best indicator of the future is to look at historical data.
