Will he have to sit out a year? How big of a get would this be? I am aware if he has to sit out this up coming season he won't be a factor until the following year and that is way to far away

Yea he would sit a year. Would be a good pickup because we will lose almost all of our guards after this season. Shoots 80% from the FT line and 35% from three. Averaged 18 points a game last year. Seems like he could be a good pickup.

That's actually a good thing that he'll need to sit a year. At first I thought we were going after him b/c the coaches thought they weren't going to land Malik. Payne's recruitment seems unrelated now.

Very unrelated. I felt like we needed a guy like this so we could have a guy who's been in the system for a year for the 16-17 season. Still, he would count toward the scholarship total so that is something to watch.

TQ could end up leaving too with the way some scouts raved over him this year.

It could definitely the blow of potentially losing almost your entire backcourt group after next season. I didn't think about the scholarship issue though. LSU has two open right now (obviously one is for Newman if he wants it). If this guy comes to LSU and the Tigers somehow get Newman, then we'll know (for better or worse) next year's frontcourt will be set.
