Hopefully he has a break out year. DE depth is a big concern.

Hope so. There's a ton of young guys at the DE position. It'd be nice to see Neal, Bower, Clark, etc. get meaningful experience this season. We'll be relying on 'em next year.

Would love to see him and Sione develop into a dominant duo at DE.

Got my attention when he blew up Andy Dodd in the big cat. Has great pad level and uses his leverage well.

Doesn't hurt that he's the shortest of the DE's He's listed at 6'1" 255 lbs. Everyone else is 6'3" plus.

Might play some DT still, I keep hearing good things about him and Herron. Hope it's legit and they can be a force, if so we are in for a nice season. I just have a feeling that our linebackers are going to kick some butt this year and cause havoc, pick some balls off also. I wanna see more TOs and sacks from the front seven.

Yeah, I just hope Neal never has to see time at DT. Hopefully, Thomas, Lacouture, and Herron will play at a pretty high level. If so, I think we'll be okay with Gilmore and Bain as back-ups. The potential is there. We just need guys to make plays.

He came in quite fit, and improved from there. He won't start but will have many chances to have his name called I predict. He's a "hunter" too; diagnoses the play quickly but always moving.

hmmm... one day bookends of Lewis Neal and Deondre Clark? Lewis & Clark.

So who would Sacagawea be? Would the quarterback be the frontier?

Ironically, your post could use one.

Well Thomas is hurt so crosstraining neal couldn't hurt, especially for passing downs.

i followed him during his recruitment. He was routinely outperforming elite players in camps but got a snub rating because of his size and height. His high school numbers are also just flat retarded.

Yes I like Neal as well, he seemed to be a major sleeper in 12 and played last year... very strong a weight room warrior...under rated because of his height. His weight is up to 255 now, I believe that but I'm not sure he is really 6' 2". I'm thinking like Josh Downs and Lavar Edwards he may look good in the Mustang package, Otherwise he is a DE like Edwards was when playing NG in the mustang. He possibly can play DT against pass happy teams, but not against power teams. Just my humble opinion.

He reminds me a lot of Elvis Dumervil from Louisville, who is only 5-11.
