There's lots of coaches who do MORE with LESS. If you compare recruiting classes with resulting success, Miles is just above average at best.

Like who? So far LSU has lost to a team with a higher recruiting rank over the past 4 years. Bana lost to a less talented team. So basically LSU has beat everyone they were supposed to.

How about we name the number of coaches with as much NFL talent as Les

I see 11-13 on this list. Contrary to popular belief LSU does not have a monopoly on NFL talent.

We have some incredible talent at WR and RB. We need a coach who will allow his OC to fully utilize all that talent.

Most all of Bama's bad years were because of NCAA probation. They're recruiting classes were weak and they had Shula.

Do you think Miles will ever beat Saban again? Does it matter to you? If in 4 more years we still haven't won anything else significant would that be okay to you? Bama is the only team that stands in our way year in and year out feom bei g the most dominant program in the country. Are you perfectly content to concede that title to bama and play for second?

That's a loser's mentality and actually goes against everything our head coach believes. Les will tell you himself anything short of a championship is not good enough--is that just unhealthy and irrational thinking from our fearless leader?

Maybe he should lower his standards just like you.

Perkins, Curry, Stallings, Dubose, Franchione, Shula- which one between Bryant and Saban was an all-time great coach? Which one experienced more success than Miles? They all had ups and downs. Until Saban fell into their lap they weren't really anything special long-term since the Bear.

Again, Les is not as good as someone of you like to believe, and I doubt had he taken over anything but the juggernaut LSU already was in 2005 that this team would be anything more than an annual 8-5 team on average.

You mean the juggernaut that finished 9-3 and ranked #16 under the great Saban in 2004? The one that got beaten 45-16 at UGA that year and the one that lost to fricken IOWA?

I hate revisionist history.

Do you not think Saban could have had the same success Miles did in 2005 had he stayed?

1) You said 10 years before Saban. That goes back to 1997. That's Dubose and that was NCAA trouble too. But your rebuttal to me now goes all the way back to Perkins.

2) You said bad years, but your rebuttal now is all-time great coaches.

Anyway - Perkins wasn't great, so run off. Curry wasn't great, so run off. Stallings was off and on and retired because he was old, but did win a championship. Francione wasn't great, couldn't handle the pressure and slipped out in the middle of the night. Dubose wasn't great, but had to deal with NCAA, because of the agent meeting with whomever the idiot player was before a bowl game, and then they fired him after the Means payoff revelation. Shula was fired because he wasn't up to snuff. Bottom line - Bama expects excellence and they don't accept mediocrity and will go through coaches until they find greatness.

They are in a 2 team league.

They only have 1 game a year they realistically can lose
