To hell with all this whining about the game. It was a harder game than our armchair philosophers anticipated. I get it. But what's the word from New York about the party? Orange fans were probably in a good mood. Could have been special. Reports, please.

I was wondering the same thing. (Or along the same lines at least).

For anyone who went, what was it like? Was the Carrier Dome as stuff as they say in the paper/news? How was the bar scene? Any historical sights in the area to check out? Anyone go to Niagra Falls? How close is West Point to there? Anyone go into NY before or after? How were the locals?

3.5 hours from Syracuse to West Point. Doubt many fans made it there. Although Army did manage to rush for over 500 yards against E Michigan yesterday.

Was there any tailgating worth a shite over there?

I have a buddy that went to the game and he said that he was very underwhelmed by the Carrier Dome and that this was the least favorite away game that he has been to.

The beer tender in our section said they sold 18 kegs. The most he ever sold. Been working there 19 years. Normally sells 4 to 5.

I enjoyed the hell out of the Carrier Dome. Not a bad seat in the house, atmosphere was okay, and lines were short.

Negatives: their entertainment sucked, the food sucked, and it was hell walking those hills to the stadium.

Niagara Falls was awesome. Beautiful and so powerful. The Canada side is much nicer.

My rental vehicle GMC Acadia had Quebec plates and everything on the gauges was in metric units. Took me a little bit to be able to the read the small MPH numbers on this side of the border. Lol

We went to a few bars. Faegans, chucks. They weren't staffed to sell all their alcohol. Fun place though. I had two Syracuse fans fall out drunk in front of me, during one walk around the bar.

Had a good time in Syracuse. Arrived on Friday and hung out in Armory Square. Was a cool area with bars all in walking distance. Blue Tusk had a good beer menu. Empire had good in house brews as well.

Campus of Suracuse is beautiful. The noon local kick sucked but what can you do. Not much in form of big tailgating although our group did hang with the LSU Washington DC alumni chapter at their RV. The shuttle to the game was nice and well run. LSU could take some notes from this.

As far as the Carrier Dome not a bad seat in the house. That said, it was pretty humid by the 3rd quarter and the lack of air made things little unpleasant. The chance to buy beer in the stadium was nice. Lines were not terrible and they seemed to have enough beer although I just bought tall boys. After the game Syracuse fans were very nice and thanked us for coming up and for a good game.

Overall a good road trip and glad I made it up here. Probably would not come back for a game if it ever happened again but seeing it was probably once in a life time I had to do it.

I went up for the game and grew up going to the Carrier Dome... Everyone else has already said it, but there really isn't a bad seat in the house.

It is always a special treat as a tiger fan to enjoy beers AT the game (in non-club level seats)

It made me not really care about the lack of tailgating so much. I spent the morning at the Sheraton on Unifersity Blvd and then walked up the hill around 11:30-45a.

Great experience and a much smaller Syracuse turnout than I would have expected.

Sure, those that stayed home knew that it was probably going to a blowout. That said, SYR may have played the best football I've ever seen them play since the days of McNabb... No bullshite.
