Let's dismiss this phrase: "Protect the kid"

The kid in question will be 21 in a month....
I hoped that BH would turn the corner and finally get his sea legs. It hasn't happened, and I think Les is leading some of his higher rated players down a primrose path by over-"protecting" them.
You know what? Life isn't all a cakewalk. You don't see Meyer, Saban, or Spurrier tiptoeing around poor QB play. They make the change.
This team is on the verge of squandering ridiculous talent, or on the verge of at least making a real go of it. The decision lies in the character of this team, if Les will just get out of the way and let the damned leaders lead!
You wussberries wanting to "protect" the psyche of BH, that ship has sailed. How about this?: BH and everyone else get over themselves and play the role they are assigned, be it in the huddle or holding a clipboard. Grow the eff up. This is big boy football.

I thought that during the offseason, but I'm legitimately questioning that assumption now. 368 yards of offense given up to JSU. Couldn't get off the field against Wisconsin. Dupre has issues. OL is dog shite. QB is what it is.
Fournette and Dural are beasts. IDK what we have after that at this point.

Tre White on defense has been great.
Hopefully defense will gel as season goes on.

Miles clinging to "the kid" likes he is the last lifeboat off a sinking ship....

I agree with you on the OL and Malachi. But, I think in the case of Malachi we have more than adequate replacements. As for the defense, I like some things I'm seeing and I think they'll continue to grow into the 3-4 defense.
Oh, also Peveto sucks, but we all knew that going in. I'm mostly thinking of Fournette, Guice, Beckwith, Tre White, etc.
