Let's Bridge the Gap....Head Coach in Waiting.....

I am not a Pro-O guy....I really wanted Jimbo or Herman and was very unhappy as to how this played out with King LimpDick Alleva calling the shots...
With that said, O is the man going fwd.....We know all the talk is about Kiffin possibly coming over, but we all know even if he does, he will bounce in a year or 2 for a HC gig.....and any other Big name OC"s are going to most likely cycle through every 2 years.
I, for one, would feel a lot better about the future of LSU if they bring in a bright young OC (Lincoln Riley, Drinkwitz, etc) and name them as Head Coach in Waiting...A la Jimbo and FSU...
I realize these younger guys won't have the resume that Jimbo had when he left for FSU, but I really feel like that would be a very good solution to our divided fanbase....

The head coach in waiting tag is dead. It puts restraints on recruiting.

You don't hire a guy and in the same year hire a HC in waiting. I wasn't wanting O but at the same time you don't start undermining him day 1. He's the guy so give him every opportunity to succeed. Right now it's all about recruiting. Even if he fails, you at least want the talent stockpiled for the next guy.

Its CEO and we need to get behind him. Only 2 coaches in SEC are proven to be better than him at this time--

Time will tell--we need a OC homerun and we should be in good shape. My worry is can CEO control the program--crap like fight before Florida game can't be pushed aside.

The only time to have a HCIW is like when everyone knew Bobby Bowden was done. O is not 100 years old if he is successful he will have a long career here. If not successful he will have a very short leash give it 2 years tops if he don't have instant results. That is one of the good aspects of hiring him right now at the moment. Jimbo wasn't happening and Herman wanted to be overpaid and accomplished nothing.
