Lets be honest. If we fired O tom., does anyone have faith in Alleva making a good hire?

Nothing will change until this guy is shown the door. how many coaching hires does he need to fail at for us to make a change? This past football hire might be the biggest hire in lsu history following 2 very successful coaches and he gambles by hiring a coach that has never in his life proven he can run a successful program AND THEN GIVES HIM A HUGE BUYOUT. That itself should be a grounds for termination. Its time for this guy to go.

Well, Wade is making me feel really excited about basketball, and I keep thinking that P.J. Fleck reminds me of him.

No. We would need a true AD takeover from the board of supervisors and boosters.

Make that SOB hire a good coach or let the money dry up.

That's the only way to right this ship

Alleva is the problem. Fire him. The new AD can fire Orgeron and find a real coach. If Alleva fires Orgeron, Alleva's track record suggests that the replacement he hires will be another failure.

If I were you I would tap the brakes on all of this basketball excitement. I'll believe he's a good coach capable of making us a winner when I see it!(Spoken from one who had his hopes up with Matt Canada!)

The only way anything changes is for the money to dry up. That will happen if the current trend continues.

Seriously, who has any enthusiasm about this season?

Alleva can do a good job if the good ole boys can get the frick out of the hiring process. Let the man do his job and stop making political hires like JJ and CEO.

You get Will Wade type hires when Alleva is allowed to work without good ole baw influence.

and that's sad because letting the money dry up means early 90's lsu.

we can gripe at the o hire all we want but its Allevaxs fault for actually hiring him and giving him the keys to the program at such a critical moment in lsu football

I'm not an Alleva fan at all, but Will Wade looks like a great hire so he did correct after caving to local pressure to hire an LSU guy

Pretty sure if O goes Alleva goes too. He has too. This abortion was his decision.

No and youre correct. When (08 09) everyone was railing against Les and I was always asking "if Les is so bad why aren't we firing the AD". All i got was shite back. Sorry but I just dont know if LSU's direction is the same as us.

So true, Rickdaddy. I well remember when Chancellor Wharton was at the helm of LSU which I guess back in the day that was the same position that King Alexander now holds. Anyway, though Paul Dietzel was a great coach and brought in to be the HaTCHett man on Coach Cholly Mac, the Athletic Department was operating in the red. However, at least in lip service when Dietzel was fired, I distinctly remember Wharton saying that his main reason for letting Dietzel go was his staunch defense of Coach Stovall who had just wen 3-7-1 and brought in Brodhead and Brodhead had made it clear what he expected of the football program and ultimately fired Coach Stovall and brought in a pretty good coach in Bill Arnsparger.
