Let me explain why LSU has a real chance to make it to the playoffs next year

But I'll also try to be as objective as possible, from the top-down...
At the top, and I say this with no questions, LSU has one of the most proven coaching staffs in the nation. If you do question our staff, I have nothing for you. The team wasn't stellar this year, but don't overlook two major things:
1) Offense was loaded with true freshman, and I really don't think plugging in another true freshman in Harris would have helped as much as some of you might think. But Harris has a year under his belt, is a better QB than Jennings, and Harris should start in 2015.
2) Defense improved night and day throughout the year, and if attrition isn't a problem this year, we will have a dominant SEC defense for 2015. We saw phenom play from the D during the second half of the year.
We have had solid recruiting classes, and we've pulled in some of the best skill players the past couple of years at key positions, and have some fantastic ones coming in next year for depth's purposes.
We will need leaders next year, and we have just that in BH and LF. The guy not talked about as much is Garrett Brumfield. He's a natural leader and he'll be a force on the OL next year. I promise you Brumfield will be All-SEC before he leaves LSU and Jamal Adams IS A BEAST. He will raise the level of play on the entire defense just like this year. Another All-SEC candidate here, gentlemen.
And for the negatigers, .
But I said I'd try to be unbiased, so here's why I think we could be less than exceptional. LSU can not afford to have attrition problems at LB or DL. We have PLENTY of top-tier DBs, but we desperately need our quality big guys to stay for 2015. Let's hope the staff is able to retain, and for the most part, I think we'll get somewhat of a reversal from the last two years of feeding the NFL.
My prediction: LSU is the dark horse of 2015. We get to Atlanta and a chance to play for a top four seed and a national championship.
Now go ahead and tell me how I'm pumping sunshine, how Les isn't a good X's and O's coach, and how old school offense won't ever be successful again in college football.

Unbiased approach is that Jennings is elite so we're staaaaaaaacked

We'll go 9-3 and hear a lot of "just wait until next year".

Defense might be championship caliber again. Offense will likely be far from it. I expect continued sub-par QB play, and would not be surprised to see our OL struggle from losing 3 or 4 starters.

Unless Jennings improves tremendously, I think we will see the same offense next year. Great WR means dick if you don't have someone to get them the ball. 10-2 or 9-3 seems like a reasonable prediction without knowing who comes back and how much Jennings will improve by next year.

I agree with you that this is all very possible...it will all depend on IF Harris is ready to lead this offense next year...because I think the defense will be awesome next year...jmgo

No argument that the D really improved. My ? Is what thing was most responsible for LSU not winning more games? My answer is play at the QB position which was very far below average. No way any team sniff SEC championship with the Mickey Mouse offense that Les Miles rolled out this year.

The OL was loaded with Srs and Upperclassmen that are moving on after this season. It all starts in the trenches. And the QB play is beyond pathetic for a program of our level.
Defense - we are going to have attrition of several 3rd year players that start.
Expect more of the same with excuses of the NFL draft and inexperience again next season.
The question is why do so many 3rd year players leave? That trend increased after 1/9..........

Harris is a playmaker. Sit back, watch, and don't come back and post about it when he lights it up in 2015.

Lets be sure we have the brainpower to understand 9-3.
out of the top 4 this year at least 2 of them, and maybe 3 will lose 2 games.....there are many of you low iq tigers who would poo poo a 2 loss season, even if we were in top 4....as i have said many times, let Les go and his phone will ring early and often by the best schools looking for a good coach....we had a moderately successful season, certainly not the best...but we wont wallow in mediocrity. Look at what Florida and Nebraska settled for.....

I'll tell you this is an off-season thread.

Sure, with a new coach, anything is possible!

No QB. No chance. Not reading all that garbage when that's all that matters.
