Did a quick search for Les Miles on Twitter. EVERY tweet from other fan basis thinks LSU is making terrible mistake and will not recover. Also every fan base with current opening asking that their school hire miles.
I've always hated LSU fans but never more than I do now.

LSU fans actually watch LSU play in depth.
We have sat through years of stagnant offense, false starts, delay of games, prevent defense losing games, horrible assistant coach hires, and a man that just can NOT take his finger off of the offense.
People that say it's a bad move, do they have any evidence to back up that claim?

If that's the case, why have only Michigan and Arkansas shown interest in Miles? There have surely been many openings at places across America in the previous years and I've never even heard fans of other schools seriously wanting Miles as their top choice.
