I have family and friends who are and were boosters for Michigan State football. They all say Nick had minimal contact with boosters and fans and said he always looked like he'd rather be somewhere else during alumni and booster functions.

When he negotiated his first Alabama contract he had a pretty low requirement for this stuff built into his contract. Had the bammers not been so desperate at the time they'd have probably told him to pound sand.
