At one time les miles was considered a top five coach nationally.

What happen did he forget how to coach or did he forget how to win?

Simple answer.
The game passed him up. He didn't want to adapt so it cost him.

Honestly used to be a big Miles supporter.

But, sometime in the last few years (maybe '12?) he just lost that killer instinct that he had. He wasn't taking the crazy risks and having it payoff like he used to.

People will point to 21-0 but let's be real our offense was terrible the 2-3 seasons prior to the great 2011 season.

Got gun-shy about taking risks in the passing game. Risk is inherent in passing as youre putting the ball up for grabs and he wanted to minimize risks and ball control the clock and score and "out-talent" the other team. That philosophy only works with opponents with weaker talent and its a 50/50 crap shoot with similarly talented opponents thus you see he was about 50% in the SEC(or teams above .500) the past few years.

I think he figured he would rather .500 the good teams and 1.000 the bad teams and that would give him a 9-3 or 10-2 record every year and he could coast through the rest of his coaching career instead of developing a passing game and going 11-1 or 12-0 some years and 8-4 other years and risk getting shite canned those down years.

He's always been only as good as his coordinators and lucky as hell in the early days.

I still find it weird to fire a coach with a win percentage of 75%

It's for the best; however I don't want another Curley hallman type

The rest of the Nation feels the same way but there is always more behind the numbers. They mean nothing without context. Only LSU fans who watch the games closely can really see whats going on.

When arm chair QB's could call the play 4 out of 5 times, that is seriously wrong!!
And I never forgot the re-match championship game with Bama- Saban made the changes, Les went with the same play-calling!!

21-0 was not bad as it looked. As a matter of fact it looked just like yesterday's game.

Yeah pretty bad game plan but it had worked for years all the way up to that point.
