whats so outlandish about that statement? If Mett is as advertised and the RBs we have returning.....i don't see how its so crazy to think that Shep could have a great year.

2 things.

Shep has struggled as WR.
Miles doesn't know shite about offense.
He only said this because of shep is from Houston area, recruiting purposes.

Perhaps for the Mich., ND., USC, Tenn,. Fla St., Mia., Tex., and Flor.'s of the world but not LSU.

Haven't you heard... at LSU we just throw 11 guys out there and we win at the elite level we are now.

Yeah, I get that..I'm just wishing/hoping this elite level will last another 10, 15, or 20 years. I will leave the continual complaining bout one thing or the other to those so inclined.

shep had 2 major hurdles to overcome:
1. he switched to wr and had to compete with other
5* wr in randle, tt, landry, beckham. shep
probably didn't catch 5 passes in high school
while the other guys have been wr for 5+ years.

2. shep had 2 below average wr coaches. mccarthy
and gonzales were not capable of developing wr,
crowton was not capable of using shep talents

To be fair, Randle played QB in HS too but your point still tands because he also play WR his freshman/sophmore year

That was a long time ago and with different coaching staff. Crowtons first year was an anomaly. I think Miles is just blowing smoke to Houston people who have ain interest in seeing Shep succeed, he has been misused his entire career.

Dude is averaging over 7 YPC every time he runs with the ball, and rarely ran last year. I don't think the staff knows what to do with him.

We'll wait and see.

Better QB's have a tendency to make WR's look better.

seems that he is looking more and more like a true WR. His route running and hands have gradually gotten much better and I wouldn't be surprised (and hope) to see him have a breakout year this year. There is a lot of good talant at WR that he will be competing with however.

Shepp was over hyped to start with. So far he has been a bust. I hope he has a blow out season but we will have to wait & see.

I guess we have diff views of busts. A bust is someone whom can't get in the field and doesnt produce at all. Shep has produced every year. Maybe not up to his 5 star status but remember his 5 star status was as a dual threat qb not a wr

LSU makes a poor HC hire around 2020 or so, goes back to traditional 65% win rate instead of Miles 80% and the CLM_Bleauxs crowd still doesn't get it? This will never change.

It's really sad that Miles will NEVER be embraced by a certain group of LSU fans. It's sad that some LSU fans are becoming just what we hate about Bama fans. ENTITLED. we just went 13-1 winning the SEC title , while playing one of the HARDEST SCHEDULES IN CFB HISTORY, and there were" fire miles " threads in the 4 th qrtr of jan9

RS might have a few memorable plays this year, but he will continue to be what he has always been -- a leader in the locker room and a decoy on the field.

Les Miles is full of shite. I wouldn't believe anything he says except that Jefferson's feet could win a ballgame. If he says Shepard will have a great year, bet the house he will be forgotten before the end of the season.

We have heard this before many times.

We expect both quarterbacks to get in the game!!

Only person Les has ever seemed to keep his word with is JJ, the one guy whose play and attitude did not live up to Les's loyalty.

Les Miles has a w-l credibility!

No doubt!

But his word is meaningless, when it comes to speaking about the future or remarks to the media, about his team's status and game plans.

He speaks out of his azz, more than not and most of his remarks are general gibberish and nonesense. I don't know if he can help it, but he sure is consistently stupid speaking!!!
