If Les does not win the SEC West at least this year

He will be fired !

Is that fair - I think so - So Les go out and prove yourself

Beat the Gators Beat Bama Beat the Hogs Beat Ole Miss

I have the need to go to Atlanta this year !

These things are so stupid. So, you're saying if we go 11-1, beat Bama, but lose a close game at Jordan Hare because Auburn has a magical 12-0 season, Les should be fired?

But if we go 9-3 like we did when we won the SEC in '01, he stays? That's fricking retarded.

I think he has to do one of these two things to keep his job:

1) win west
2) make playoffs

No one should care if we don't win the west if we make the playoffs

ETA: I fully understand it is unlikely to make the playoffs without winning the west. But it's not impossible. Don't be dumb.

Exactly!!

Miles needs to have a great season, PERIOD! If we beat everyone but Bama thats a great season, if we beat Bama and lose one or two close games to teams having an exceptional season (Ole Miss, Auburn, Fla) then thats still a great season even if there would still be a wad of assholes on the Rant that would call for his head (this will happen even if he goes undefeated but doesn't win by 30pts in every game).

I don't think he has to win the West. I would like to see more conversation about what posters think he has to do at the minimum to keep his job. Can he finish 3rd and keep his job? Is 9 wins enough?

A team that doesn't win the SEC West won't make the playoffs.

Well, let me be the first in line in case something goes astray and GooOleLess is attacked from all corners.

This board would get very interesting if we lost to Bama but won the west

I am more than content with a 3 to 4 loss season, because I remember the 90s.

whether you agree or disagree with OP, he is right. Les' buyout, which apparently is what Fking Alexander cited as being prohibitively high, will be $9,000,000.00 after 1/1/17. thats down 40% from the 15 million buyout that gave lease a new les on life.

I'm not sure whether to upvote or downvote this...

Les keeps his job unless he goes 0-3 to Bama, Arky, and Ole Miss again. This year, 2 of these games will be at home with a more experienced team and a presumably up and coming superstar DC. It'll get ugly again if we 0'fer those games again.

since beating Alabama/Arkansas back to back is equally as difficult as winning the Semi-final/Final back to back, Winning the West for LSU is equally as hard as winning the national championship.

I love when people start threads like this (constantly) and state the obvious...
