Fix the QB and the offense will be fine. Look at his history when he trusts the QB. Find a QB whisperer and we will be fine.

when people start making excuses your offense stinks because your fullback and blocking tight end got hurt you have issues.

whoa

maybe the offense is too complicated for a qb?

or maybe they just don't know how to recruit the right fricking qb for their system.

Folks around here don't take kindly to rational thought. My thread yesterday along the same lines was down voted with a quickness.

good gosh.. what is wrong with yall?

the offense doesn't adjust in game

they don't put the qb in the best positions to succeed.. they give them extremely low percentage throws.. safe throws.. especially chucking it deep.. if it's picked off.. it's a punt lol.

there needs to be a better offensive culture brought in here.. and miles needs to lay off it.

Didn't say their QB recruitment was even adequate - that is the problem. They need to recruit a pro-style QB and forget the BS dual threat. Get a Mauck type and you are fine.

I do not think this is the case anymore. I think we need a scheme that puts athletes in space more consistently. Everything we do is run between the tackles and have becomes predictable based on formation.

Look at 2013 - the offense had all kinds of crossing routes, high percentage throws etc.

It is all based on the QB.

Just who in heck is supposed to fix quarterback besides dear old Les and his buddy Cam?

So what you're saying is, this isn't true:

Les/Cam's Offense is Fine

Look, you either fix QB development or switch to an offensive style that your QB can run well.
We have seen neither from Miles over the years, so what's the result?

The offense sucks.

No it didn't. It was the same passing game we have today. Vertical passing that takes time to develop and require the QB to make a lot of difficult throws.

Very few easy throws and easy yards in this offense and it was like that in 2013 as well.

It's really not. Unless you think fine us way too much I formation, 2 reciever routes with 50/50 passes and 0 utilization of tight ends. The offense is about as basic and out dated as it can get.

Lol, I got warned by Admins for saying something similar. But agreed.

Note: got warned because I put it on the recruiting board, too negative for that particular location. Not for saying it (I thought IF you're that dependent on those two positions, you should probably recruit that way)

you can keep the formations/personnel, but either do more things out of them (e.g. Power I, TE behind LB off of play fake of Toss Dive so that they aren't keying on FB). Hell, for a while doing such things would throw opponents way off because of the past predictability. You'd have to adjust again later, but that's the real issue now isn't it

You can't handcuff a QB early and often like Miles and then just think you're going to turn the passing game on and off when you need it.

You have to pass when you want to, not when you're forced to and everyone knows exactly what's coming with 1 and 2 WR's running routes. Passing once out of every 7 or 8 plays is not enough to have a consistent passing attach, especially with a new QB and young WR's.

We do have too many low-percentage throws. Far too often, we're dialing up slow developing pass plays rather than quick throws to the outside and underneath. Granted, Harris does seem to struggle with those.

The playcalling isn't that bad though. It is more a matter of QB development and situational calls. Would love to see more short and mid range passes that spread the defense out
