JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- When Leonard Fournette was asked if he would like to help hand out supplies at a hurricane shelter, the Jacksonville Jaguars running back never hesitated.

He just asked when and where

As soon as they told me, I hopped out of bed," Fournette said. "This is our off day, so why not?

After helping unload the truck, Fournette spent some time with people at the shelter, signing autographs and visiting with people who had to evacuate their homes because of Hurricane Irma.

The guy is just too much of a class act. So glad he chose to be a Tiger.

Still pisses me off that our fan base semi turned in him for a little while due to injuries. Had he been healthy he would have broken so many records. Best overall guy to come through this program in decades

Not often you see someone know he would be a pro since 8th grade do all the right things from then on.

He just acts like such a pro, kids to other people in the league could take notes.

Got to be proud of a guy like that.

And I say going to LSU was such a good move for him. He will have a life long cheering section regardless of what he does on the football field

He honestly may be the best man to ever wear purple and gold. Don't forget that he raised 180k for the victims of the South Carolina flood, has been a model father to his daughter, donated 50k to victims of Harvey and got gym equipment for a local highschool in Jacksonville.

So proud to say Leonard is a tiger.

Love that dude. Didn't just live up to his five star rating on the field, but off the field as well. Should have won the Heisman over that Bama running back.

This. I've never met anyone from another fan base that actively cheers on and follows their former players in the pros or in their non-sports careers as much as LSU, even before we became an NFL factory. And it's like this in all the major sports.

Dude had every excuse to rest that day (coming back from a division road game, first nfl game, 26 carries, punishing running style) but instead CHOSE to do this.

Actions like these make any excuse I come up with for why I don't want to do something seem pathetic in comparison

I need to be more like Leonard, off the field

I can only imagine how difficult is must be to grow up constantly surrounded by all of that hype, go to LSU and handle everything flawlessly.

There is no way that I could have done that at that age. I respect that more than anything that he will do on the field.

This. LSU has been very blessed by having some really good young men come through.

For those who didn't click the link, he also donated shoes & shirts. Such a great ambassador for the school, so glad to call him "one of ours"

On a side note, you always hear about his daughter. Didn't he also have a son recently? Never mentioned.
