But the injury risk on a kick off return is high. Our season is fricked if he gets hurt.

Derp. Yes, there's absolutely no quality depth at all behind Fournette at all. So taking on 300 lbs defensive lineman on running plays reduces his chances of injury? Do people even think before they post anymore?

I'm fine with it if the coaches think he's so good at it that they can't leave him on the bench.

I was really hoping Donte Jackson would separate himself as an elite returner this year though. His speed is unreal.

Les said that Leonard may be on some kickoff returns this year.

Link?

And if true, F that noise. Let LF7 focus on destroying foes on offense. If this is true, and Les did say that, my guess would be to further increase LF7's chances on the heisman

Dang. LF is faster than 30 frames per second.

One of the dumbest things ever written. Guice and Jackson are more explosive than Leonard Friggin Fournette? Not just more, but "way more".

And what evidence do you have that Jackson has better vision than Fournette?

I'll say this, if you're right it's no wonder Fournette wasn't invited to NY.

Not an LSU fan but I would be totally against this. One bad hit and he goes down and for what? I know he could take one bad hit running the football but that's what he's designated for. Guice did a hell of a job last year returning kicks from what I saw.

Why we have more than enough people who can return kicks.

Oh... That was LF7 in that GIF??? All I saw was a blur moving right to left, haha.

ETA: still pisses me off to be reminded how Chief royally screwed us out of a W in LF7's monster game.

Not against it...at least not because of injury worries. I'm trying to remember a time when an LSU returner (or any for that matter) took some hit that caused any sort of injury, severe or otherwise. I'd think LF would be in a much better position to dictate contact as a returner than a RB who can get twisted up in the LOS, etc. We've seen what he does to DB's when he's in the open field...they look unhappy to put a hat on him.

I'd be more worried about the extra work...but even then for a guy in that kind of shape it's minimal.

No, we have better guys to return kicks without injury risk to LF.

If LSU is tied with Bama in the 4th quarter with two minutes left in the game and Bama is kicking off to LSU...I think everyone would be ok with LF back there.

No on KO returns and no on plays from scrimmage. Both are too dangerous and the risk of injury is too high. We simply cannot risk getting LF hurt. So that we can reduce the chances of injury, I propose LF only enter the game on extra points.....and then only as the holder.

No chance of injury = Successful season.

The risk of injury on a kickoff doesn't scare me in the least bit.

I think he should be back there. Teams would either kick it out the endzone if they can, kick it to Guice until they realize that's not a good option, or kick it out of bounds are to a up man for a fair catch at the 25.
I seriously doubt many teams would actually kick it off to him. I see many more advantages of him being back there than the risk of him getting hurt on a given football play.
He's more likely to get hurt on one of those stupid passes to the flat to him where a LB or DB chops his legs down the second he catches it, which almost happen last year to him, and what happened to Dillon Gordon and JD Moore last year.

Give Guice the chance. The guy runs like a madman and still has breakaway speed.
