I think it is time for us as a fan base to take a different view of these late game basketball collapses. It is time to view them for what they really are: Beautiful Pieces of Art.

Ahh yes. Each has its own special attributes that just make you say, "wow".

Last night's work of art was a thing of beauty due to the fact that, LSU, overall, played a pretty error-free game. You see five turnovers for LSU and three times as many for Bama and you think "LSU runs away with this".

Not to mention 35 Free Throws Attempted to what, maybe 10? LSU dominates....

LOL

Oh no. Not LSU. Not now.

When TQ hit that three to go up 8 with about 14 minutes left, I was giddy. I'm thinking "yes, this could be a blow out now". Instead, Bama's coach gets the bright idea to call a time out to stop LSU's momentum (seriously, who does that shite?!?! Let it play out). Within 90 seconds LSU has blown the lead and Bama has the ball again to take the lead. I knew at that moment we were in the midst of another collapse.

Unlike OU where we blew a 14 point lead by slowing down the game, instead, we blow this one at the FT line (again similar to USCe) and in the lane. We missed multiple point-blank shots under the rim, while not forcing our hand down low. Several times BS had the ball under the rim, and instead of laying it up, he passed it off.

Beautiful. Just beautiful.

We let Bama go on a huge run and we never got momentum back. Good thing we saved all of our TOs again for the end of the game when we really needed them.

I would love to go into detail of the other late game collapses, but with this one being so unique, I think we should admire it for a while.

See, that's the issue.

We don't suck.

We shouldn't suck.

We have a "sweet 16" roster.

Agreed. Our late game choke jobs approve of your statement.

I was hoping this group would not be like the last group was last year where blowing games late was common due to Josh Grey TO's and or Jordan Mickey not being able to make anything.

This year, it is a special combination of several factors. It really is interesting how each one plays out.

At times, we have a "Sweet Sixteen" starting lineup.

We do not have a top-to-bottom Sweet Sixteen roster.

Shooting with nobody around the goal for a rebound is crazy and free throws bouncing around rim. Halarious.
