Last year's LSU football team should have finished 10-1 with a playoff berth

Opening at Lambeau as the #5 ranked team with 18 returning starters, I thought last year would be the best chance to make a run to the playoffs. The defense was good enough to make it, considering we gave up only 3 touchdowns in 4 losses (1 to WISC, 0 to AUB, 1 to ALA, and 1 to FLA). Besides the win over Mississippi State, each win we had was by at least 15 points. This was a dominant team, and if we beat Wisconsin, Auburn, and Florida, and lose 0-10 to Alabama, I think the committee owes us one after the BS in 2011. The playoff seedings may have been...
1. Alabama vs. 4 LSU
2. Clemson vs. 3 Ohio State
Because the committee wouldn't have wanted an all SEC championship, and LSU's resume would have been better than Washington's. If we don't lose the games we did besides Bama, I truly believe these are the playoff seedings and we're looking at a chance to avenge 2011 in Atlanta.
The Florida loss last year was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. We fumbled at the 2, then Florida threw one over Donte for a 98-yd TD pass. A 10-point swing. If that doesn't happen, we win the game (423 yards to their 270) and at least go to the Sugar Bowl. It was a dominant team that was choking on a junior varsity offense.

Let it go already. With the talent we've had the past few years we should have more to show for. Thank Les

Yea well, if we had won every game during the Curly Hallman years we'd have won a national championship or two as well...

Need a qb no matter how good the rest of the team is, miles promised change at the beginning of the season and gave us the same product. At least he gave us Aranda

Abolutely! LSU under any other coach LSU would NEVER have lost a game. No other team on the country has facilities that even come close to LSU's. The home grown talent is so huge that LSU would never have bothered to recruited out of state. Fans wouldn't be leaving at half time because the team would have been so exciting. The defense would have been totally stifling, allowing less than 6 points per game. The offense would have been so massively explosive that walk-ons and student managers would be playing in the 4th quarter (to a full house) and the score board would have to be repaired to account for all of those 100+ point games.
Damn you Les.
Am I doing this right?

No...We were exactly what our record indicated.

this thread is nonsense. Many teams could say the same thing every year.

I will go with Florida since it was at home and we were picked to win by 10-14 points.
I hope O proves me wrong, but I have no faith in his being able to win 11 or 12 games as LSU fans demand.

Lambeau was pretty devastating.

And we still would have lost to Alabama 0-3 or 0-10 again

It's true. Never would I have guessed that we wouldn't make the playoff.
Brandon Harris looked like hammered dog shite to start the season. He had the keys to a Ferrari and wrecked it. Sure Miles too, but I'll never forget how BH rebounded from losing the Wisconsin game.

I think driving 18 hours made it even more so.

Wisconsin, Auburn, and Florida were just disgusting. Bama too but they were good. It brought back feelings I thought i killed off after 1/9

I wasn't even that mad. This sums it up perfectly.

Yes LSU could have won both the Auburn and Wisky games at the end, but LSU certainly didn't dominate those teams. Those two wins would have been the pulled those out of the butt type deals Bama was simply better than LSU but the Tigers hung in there.
UF was the toughest loss simply because LSU was clearly the better team, but multiple self inflicted wounds gave the game to UF. In some ways it was more frustrating than that damn Sugar Bowl just on a much smaller stage.
