It seems to me that the one position LSU has really been lacking in over the years is the tight end position. They really have not had a standout player at tight end in a good while, the only one in recent memory who was a productive part of the offense was Richard Dickson. Without question, the last great tight end that played at LSU was Robert Royal, now that guy was a play-maker who was a go-to guy in the early Saban years.

So why the lack of good TE's since then?

DeAngelo Peterson was decent, but I don't recall him being a consistent target, if memory serves, he didn't have the best hands, would drop passes a good bit.

Well since all they seem to do in our offense is block how would you even know if we have a good TE or not. They throw one pass during the game and if the TE drops it, you can just about bet in Vegas that there will not be another pass to a TE during the game.

We keep hearing Miles say there is a WANT to get the TE's the ball more WWWWTTTTFFFF. If you want to get the TE's the ball more all you have to do is pass them the ball more!!!!!

We have had several good TEs but our head coach only uses them as an extra tackle.

Dickson was really good. Robert Royal was also really good in the DiNardo/Saban era - he had a nice pro career as well.

The non-use of him is mystifying. Does he have any catches in his career yet?

I would go with Richard Dickson. He is the last game changing TE for sure.

Who was the TE that ran the reverse sweep against Bama 6 or 8 years ago to set up a score that Saban claimed he wasn't prepared for????

DeAngelo I believe. I do not know if I would consider him a decent TE but I can see the argument.

You mean the one he probably could have scored on but ran out of bounds?

Travis Dickson had 5 catches for 69 yds vs OM in '12. Probably hasn't had five catches since.
