It's smart not to commit. It's just better to wait and see how Poche feels, how ULL looks, how we look. ULL can't hit well. We'd be fine with Reynolds/Bain starting game 2.

Who starts Sunday if not Poche? Reynolds maybe? I'm not sure I trust Bain enough anymore to throw him out there.

I would think baseball Adam of TD would be more in tune with Omaha pitching decisions. Your ace goes game 1 so you can use him in your first and third game. If you win. Which is the idea.

I guess I don't understand. I would think Poche goes sunday no matter what.

Edit to change Saturday to Sunday

I guess you mean Sunday. But I think the point is that there's no reason to put his name down yet without seeing how his arm feels.

Reynolds then Bain. Bain is beastly out the bullpen. I think he wears himself out before the game even starts sometimes. It's a dumb theory I have, but it has the most logic

Gunner Leger is going to lock LSU up in game 1.

Expect a pitchers dual with Louisiana putting a glass pint in LSUs eye.

Full rest for Poche would be Monday. If you're already 1-0, you could save him for game 3 against ULL's "worst" starter. It's one way to go about it.

Not sure that's worth rolling the dice for. I think Poche pitches Sunday regardless.

Forgive my lack of pitching strategy expertise, but assuming we win game 1, would it not be possible that we start Reynolds or someone game 2 and get as far as we can with him then bring in Poche?

I agree... but should 6 days rest not be enough?
